    That stat constantly being brought up regarding the amount of games this coach has been in charge is misleading. This is only the second occasion that JAM has assembled a full strength team since his arrival. The last occasion that JAM assembled a full strength team was against Argentina and he didn't prepare those players. The other games have been friendlies using under strength teams..

    A lot of these Jamaicans probably secretly laughing at us because we never could seem to get ourselves toghter and we always enter into to everything uprepared. We beat Jamaica at home with their mostly domestic squad with a couple of foreign based players and most of us actually thought we had a chance playing against their full squad. We never plan anything long term look look at Netball T&T were co-winners of the title in 1979 and where are we now? No where!!!!. Jamaica's women Netballers always in the top 5. Look at Athletics Jamaica always was ahead but they have dramatically increased power and prestige in and they are now a superpower and we aren't even on the map. Football from 1935 to 1969 T&T were leading Jamaica at a ratio of 16 to 8 in wins, then from after 1969 to now Jamaica turn that around to 18 to 10 Jamaica to T&T wins. My point is that we don't do anything long term we wait last minute a couple weeks before a major sporting event hoping we change 10 years + of hard neglect and even if Jamaica doesn't start out the best they are great at long term planning and building up something over a long period of time.

    Trinidad need to play more overseas players. Jamaica had four or five premiere league players on their team. That makes a big difference. The years when Trinidad had overseas players like Dwight Yorke and Stern John they did much better.

      They don't have many overseas players that are good enough

    • @Tejaye777
      @Tejaye777 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think we in T&T need to find a structure and long term plan for Football to bring back the public interest into Football because over the past couple of years there has been Football apathy. We don't have a large pool of players to choose from in T&T because not as much people are going into it. The fact of the matter though is despite the relative sizes of the countries JAM with a 3 million population and T&T with 1.5 million. Jamaica has about 400k people in the UK with traceable Jamaican heritage while T&T only has about 25k. So I think those UK born probably would help but the pool is too small to get the kind of help Jamaica would get. So I think we would end up second best anyway.
      With regard to gross malpractice and corruption and incompetence that is really the main issue we have here. Too many people in the Federation was too concerned about making money corruptly that no focus was put on setting up long term plans to insure the level of our Football is raised at all levels. We ended up with a Federation that has no money because of corruption of the Federation being charged for dubious things and the powers that be at the time approving the charges I think most of the money is supposedly owned to Jack Warner and some coaching staffs and various entities many of which don't even seem legititimate but approvals were given to pay these people at the highest levels of the TTFA. Not to say Jamaica doesn't have corruption and incompetence but not so much that it leaves the Federation peniless and they are good at long term development, even if they themselves show incompetence in the shortterm logistics of getting teams prepared for major tournaments.
      Trinidad and Tobago has a very bad history of poor administrative functioning, regardless of the sport. These are the guys who can come up with ideas of changing the sports trajectory by their ideas, organizing things to acheive a stated goal, generating income by adverstisement of the sport and coming up with ways to make the sport seem excited and thereby generating money because the public feels like a partner in the particular sport. Administrative bodies in T&T do none of these things, just total failures. That's why when you hear people like Ato Boldon, Brent Sancho and Lasana Liburd talking and seem a little pessimistic about the country's chances in various sports is because of gross administrative incompetence and extreme corruption.

      @PimpThe478 I'm a Jamaican. Same with JFF care nothing about football just the money they're interested in. To me the local players like York, Latapy, Lewis etc along with Jamaican Bailey, Nicholson etc those players learnt to play football where not only borned but raised in, they'll be able to play with the other local players in the country better than the foreigners. Not because their parents are from T&T or Jamaica. The foreigners don't have the T&T or Jamaican DNA as the ones who are borned and raised there.

    • @Tejaye777
      @Tejaye777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rnhor4924 I think it is always best to have people born and raised in the country representing it but I think sometimes it is advantageous to use people who qualify to play for the country of their ancestory. Sometimes you just have better players than what you can get locally born. I don't really know the true situation but I heard the same thing that Brent Sancho has said that the Federation does not really want to use UK born players in large amounts. It's a bit strange because we are using players born in the US and Canada right now. So I'm not sure about that statement but I've heard others say it. I think Jamaica and T&T situation is very different. Jamaica has a huge diaspora and definitely they can get better players from their diaspora than most times they can get at home and they have gone out whole heartedly to maximize the use of that opportunity. T&T with a much smaller diaspora it's harder to find players abroad who would be better than the local borns. So I'm not sure if the case is that we aren't maximizing on the use of dual nationals like Jamaica or we just don't have a large enough pool of them to really gather the quality Jamaica can. So T&T's best bet is raising the level of d game at home and getting some to go overseas at elite clubs like Dwight Yorke, Latapy, Stern John and Kenwyne Jones did.

    • @rqubed2603
      @rqubed2603 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rnhor4924our argument is simplistic and filled with irony. These players literally share the same strings of dna as those born in Jamaica. Stretches of dna sequencing will literally be identical to those born on the island and will trace back to a man and woman who was enslaved in Jamaica. For us parents living abroad because we want our children to have better opportunities no man cannot tell us our children cannot represent Jamaica. None. Take your dunce self off the internet and go read a book on basic logic.
      You're telling me if Shamar's parents had moved to London and he was born in London and came through Arsenal's academy you would preclude him from representing Jamaica because of where he was born though both of his parents are Jamaican?
      We diasporans prop up the Jamaican economy and gave almost a billion dollars to fight crime and contribute significantly to Jamaica's GDP via remittances. No child chooses where they are born. Simply being born on the island does not make you better.
      You should have started your post with "I'm a wasteman" instead of "I'm a Jamaican". 😂 Duppybat.

    To me the most important thing here was about the difference in quality between the players from Jamaica and T&T. I think though formation is an important issue it was of secondary importance here. Just hearing what Angus said about players watching names, I think some of the players were a bit uneasy about maintaining a decent performance against our long time rivals which up to that point we led by one game in the winning column. The fact that players like Auvery and Molino not starting makes me wonder if they had a bit of jitters and if they were a bit uneasy with the type of quality in the Jamaican team they were coming up against and didn't want to be part of a team that had a historically big loss to Jamaica.
    I think we played a mostly local Jamaican team made up of a few foreign based players and we had competitive matches that we narrowly won. I think with the full contigent of Jamaican players some of our players were a bit over awed added to the fact that their players played at a much higher level than ours and the result was disastorous. Well administrative incompetence over a long period of not laying down the ground work for the a significant rise in the level of our domestic game that would have allowed some of our player to make moves to elite clubs around the world sealed our faith. Jamaica has raised the level of their game locally and also benefits from a large disapora of about 2.5 million people worldwide and specifically about 400k in the UK, while T&T has about a diaspora of 400k with only about 25k in the UK from which most of the male Footballers would come from for both JAM and T&T.

      I'm from T&T and I don't think he explicity said "They can't beat USA". What he is saying is in terms of individual quality T&T is at a definite disadvantage to the USA and Jamaica and it would be very hard for them to win it. To be honest he is saying that what bought us to this point is due to admiinstrative incompetence and corruption of our administrators being more concerned with making money than actually finding away to have significantly raise the level of the game in T&T so our league produces players that play at a decent level and we have players who go on the Elite clubs around the world. Right now T&T has a certain Football apathy due lack of good performance and a direct plan to get Footballers to an Elite level where they can make money and feel like they are appreciated. It's a whole downward cyle bought about by poor Administrative work.

      @@risinup2778 I'm not sure but if you look at Angus Eve's record this is his first loss for the season out of about 10 games. I know it came in an important tournament and the loss was big considering that games between Jamaica are usually tight and relatively close but this Jamaican team had significantly higher quality players than we did, just watch the kind of clubs their playing for. We need to raise the level of the sport in T&T. The coach can only select the best of what we have & draw up strategy. However the most important thing is having people who play at a high level, then secondly getting them to play together regularly to develop a syngery with each other.
