As an Attorney myself, if in fact they had an "in-house attorney," I would never allow my client send emails and/or take your calls, "in house" means that Counsel is on a retainer, as such, they are paying the Attorney regardless of any claim or potential lawsuit, no doubt a scam, discovery would allow myself to obtain the full video/footage so, why not provide it? The whole matter is quite odd.

Whatnot is a scary place. It feels a carnival game that you don't really understand how it's played. In the end you "win" something, but it cost way more than you think it should.
I have opened Brilliant stars, Lost Origin and Evolving skies with the same black code card and got non-holo rares. I got these packs from tins, and it seems pretty common recently. Also the video where he pulled the Pikachu V TG there was a Pikachu Vmax TG on the table.

Biggest red flag is the location of the glue. Scammers open the crimped end so the pack stays intact and cards can slip out to be searched. Also usually the bottom edge crimp specifically since it is the least likely place someone would crack a pack from. The point would be to keep the reseal glue from getting exposed to the mark.
I feel sorry for people who have gone through their entire lives and into adulthood, without learning the differences in "where", "were" and "we're". I cringe that they don't know how illiterate they appear, every time they are allowed to type on the internet lol
Just more proof of why the Pokemon Company needs to get rid of the different colored code cards. This specific situation literally doesn't happen if all the codes WERE the same color. Sad this kind stuff happens to businesses. Hope people learn something from this. Keep up the good work Rattle!
I’m seeing packs opened with fingerprints / thumbprints already on the holo energy ?? Anybody noticing this anywhere? Weird…. Do the Pokemon folks touch the cards before sealing up packs ? I wouldn’t think they should have finger prints on them soon as the pack is opened ……
I mean I once opened a sealed evolving skies ETB from Walmart and some packs were missing the rares entirely. Do I think Walmart resealed the packs? They don’t accept returns on Tcg products so let’s rule that out. Sometimes it just happens from the factory
This is ridiculous. I bet card shops have to deal with clowns like this all the time. As if no one has ever had mixed up code cards. That Pikachu TG being left in there really hurts their claim. What over the brick stated about the time/cost to do such a thing is also very true. Who the heck would do this with modern pokemon?!?! Even just weighing (not always effective with English), re-sorting the packs then re-shrinking the BB would make this a very inefficient way to "make money". Lost Origins... I don't know why but I find it grating when people add that S in the name, haha.
I really appreciate the accent Rattle! I just want you to know that. I may not comment all the time, but I always watch and the accent makes me smile and laugh every time!
If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it probably is. Lack of supporting evidence provided to substantiate potential loss and subsequent back peddling could indicate a bogus attempt of this kind.
Its a shame that some creators try to mess with legit stores because they didn’t pull anything worth what they paid (I bought $1200 of evolving cries packs and pulled 1x 80 bucks alt art, you don’t see me crying over it) . Good stores and creators should be a team. In my case without my trusted stores I would not have anything to record for my content.
My thoughts are... did they reseal them themselves and then record the opening just to try and bait the refunds to lower their cost basis on the larger order? How could you prove in a court who tampered the box and where the box was tampered with when the seller has video surveillance of their warehouse?
I've opened booster boxes, most modern sets like lost origin and silver tempest that had all black code cards within the box and had packs similar to his but still pulled 10-15 hits v, vmax etc. The packs do rip like that sometimes, hell i've gotten packs with 16 cards before and if you are ballin with 60k a month on products you should know error exist.
Be careful buying Pokemon cards at CVS, I've seen those tin cans on the shelf but they're missing the plastic seal around it. You can tell that they were already tampered with.
I can't imagine a store with $40k in transactions would have the resources or need for an in-house counsel. They buy their product from LGS instead of from distributors, and you don't even need to incorporate to purchase from distributor so its not hard (first hand knowledge). This is someone who buys product in bulk from LGS' for a slight discount (probably $90-95 per bb) to rip and ship. There is nothing wrong with that business model, and it can be fun and lucrative hobby, but I highly doubt that it pulls numbers to pay a lawyer's hourly fee, let alone hire one in-house. Source: lawyer.
After the first mention of lawyers, I as a shop, would just tell them that it is now a legal matter and we are not allowed to answer anymore. Their lawyer should contact the stores lawyers
It really is sad how much deception there is going on in the Pokémon card world (although I only rejoined during chilling reign) not mentioning name of the store but I used to get a subscription I loved. I stopped because I had way too many sword and shield era cards it was generating bulk mostly. One time I found some booster packs that were loose in the sealing and had like nine cards and then one was missing the rare card. I told them this over a message saying that I found it weird and they got soooooooo angry at me for messaging them in this way. These were loose booster packs and I said it might have happened at the factory and they still got soooo pissed at me and I told them I wanted to go through them rather than posting publicly. Seeing people like this, I can understand why the store got annoyed with me And I didn’t even ask for a refund. I just wanted to alert them in case their source was sketchy.
Don't know if anyone else noticed but when he showing the videos where the pikachu was pulled and cherry picked what packs he showed opening the hits pile on the bottom left keeps growing.
What's weird is if they thought they were scammed by the shop. Why would the canceling of the items be bad.. if It were me I would cancel the second order and figure out the first one.... Which shows. There was never an issue. Why would you want more bad product. Also if he thought it was bad why would you sell it to people. More proof they are dishonest
So idk if it helps but I purchased a LO box from them which gives me access to that particular livestream due to the nature of Whatnot allowing buyers to see livestreams tied to purchases regardless if they’re hidden or not. Let me knoe
WhatNot has become a shite show! If these person from WhatNot has nothing to hide why remove the entire opening video? Why not allow someone asking for that entire video to prove they were scammed not allow it to be watched. None of this makes sense! They just weren’t happy with the cards they got, not store’s fault-just random draw of the card packs in the booster boxes. The store that sold the booster boxes have zero control of what cards are in the packs.
Imagine ur a card shop stealing holos lol, like all of them. Solid gold. Make more money buying a bridge... **this clown learned life from divorce court.**
Super suspicious as they are suppose to stream live. Breaking the video up into smaller clips seems like a scammmm to me. I am with others in that code cards are not 100% indicators.
I wonder if they were going to pass on the "refund" to their customers? I doubt it. I would have canceled their order as well. Why risk it? It's pretty sad ..
I am a retailer and had a similar incident with ETB boxes. Buyer accused me of selling a resealed box not getting any key holo rares. Buyer purchased 2 ETB's only. This is the unfortunate poser "collectors" world. Speculating conspiracy without any facts.
It gets to a point where you just refund and block. Move on from people who try to scam you. I am sorry it happened to this store, thank you Rattle for defending them
They got error boxes! To bad they was bad error boxes buyer beware you get what you pay for its gambling. To be fair that set was hard to pull good cards anyways. This crap it is crap cuz they have a hole video they could show as proof but don't show. I know if this happened to any honest person they would give all information to get point across 🙄. Like they couldn't put the glue on after the fact crazy what some will do to double their profits SAD VERY SAD.
Where do you think they where when they learned to scam like this? Its where'd they would even try to pull something this ridiculous. If I where them I wood take an english class and not spend a dollar on lawyers, if they do they will learn what it feels like to really get scammed. (Good luck paying thousands of dollars and getting nothing back while the lawyers laugh all the way to the bank)
Why only show individual clips of individual packs??? Why not at least show a booster box being opened start to finish?? You claim the box was opened, and the packs were resealed, but you don't show yourself opening the sealed box???
spend hours resealing packs and put back in the pikachu vmax lol..... its mad how some have so much paranoia in this hobby, see it on reddit all the time...

The whatnot guy will get nothing because they will NEVER be able to prove the store was at fault. They themselves could have altered the packs with a plan to scam the seller (could have been done long before the stream even started). Just impossible to prove anything.
There's an almost 100% chance that this seller was called out/caught for resealing packs themselves for a "bounty game" (pull any Giratina and win a moonbreon!) and is now going all in on blaming it on the store
Seller on WHATNOT can hide streams from everyone. they don't get deleted. they still have the stream video. I know because my girl and me stream on whatnot
