It was the most luckiest match for liverpool in their history they played only 6 minutes and scored 3 goals, the rest of the time was just Dudek doing saves that even Yashin couldn't do

For we Milan fans it's a scar that still hurts. 2005 was one of our greatest squads to ever play the game still we weren't able to win a single trophy that year. Crazy how we won in 2007 as most of our players were on the edge of retirement.
Having not won it since the 70s, Bayern finally won the CL in ‘01 exactly two years after the utter heartbreak of losing the final literally in stoppage time against that great Man Utd team of ‘99. Funny how again in ‘10 they lost a final and came back two years later, expecting to win in their home stadium, but Drogba broke their hearts again.. of course the next year they would win it against Klopp’s Dortmund

I remember the penalty shoot out between Liverpool and Milan. Andriy Shevchenko stepped up to take his penalty , but you could see it in his eyes that he just didnt want to face Dudek . Of course that might have had something to do with the fact , that Dudek made that unbelievable double save in the dying minutes of extra time . Dudek had totally psyched out Shevchenko
They started showing saves at the end. Would have expected to see his double save as well.

But this is football, and both teams made history in their own way. Liverpool with a majestic recovery and psycological warfare, AC Milan with their revenge. This is why we love this sport!

Leverkusen vs Madrid was my first final, I remember as a kid about 9 years old Leverkusen beat Man United in the semis and I never even heard of Real Madrid so I just assumed Leverkusen were big favourites and was then shocked when Real Madrid beat them, in retrosepct it would've been a major upset if they actually won. Will always remember that match.

2003 represented the highest peak for Italian football, what a league it was the NBA of football by far, bringing 3 teams out of 4 in Semi-finals and giving the first and only all Italian final.
Highest peak of Italian teams was during the late 80's until the mid 90's, when the Milan won 3 times European Cup and lost two finals in 1993 and 1995, also Juventus and Inter won Uefa Cup from 1991-1994 and even Napoli in 1989 and Parma twice in 1995 and 1999.

Milan 2005 has Crespo, Shevchenko, Cafu, Pirlo, Maldini, Kaka, Nesta, Seedorf and Gattuso, but somehow still lost to liverpool, who pretty much only had Gerrard and arguably Dudek, who were very good. Tbh I blame the coach for subbing off Crespo, he would've scored a hat-trick. An amazing game tho, one of the best finals to date.
