You guys can also study yung chart ng Circle of Fifths. It's actually really helpful from determining chord families and its key/root, to even transposing.

My favorite tip from this vid is yung inexplicitly na pagsabi ng feeling, instead of saying it na straightforward, parang idescribe sya.
Example siguro 'yung sa "Sa'yo": "ni isang beses ay hindi pa 'ko nakakakain ng paru-paro ngunit tila bakit ang sikmura ko'y puno" 🎶

Galing! Ang dami ng possible interpretations nung song! Ganon kapowerful ang paglalaro ng words, lumalalim ang bawat kahulugan ng letra. Thats what music brings.
Sadly, i ended up seeing the song as a suicidal song. "Hindi naman masama ang unti-unting pagdilim, kung ang ibig sabihin nito'y ako'y makakatikim ng pahinga"

Very helpful and systematic. Ako naman when I wanna write a song maghahanap muna ako gusto kong melody by humming along with finding the right chords in the guitar. Pero mas masarap talaga magsulat kapag 'ung parang sinasaniban ka. It comes very naturally. Hehe
