She’s an 80’s gal with the boxy cars like the grand national.
Totally agree with April. The new Santa Fe looks fantastic.
I like how April thinks. I also like the new Hundai Santa Fe.
I asked my wife what her car of the year is. She said 2024 Mustang GT with a 6 speed manual OR 2023 Challenger R/T Last Call with the 6 speed manual. Reminds me why I married her. 😁
Those old 2003 Santa Fe are so reliable my buddy had one with well over 200k
The 2008s looked great too and the prior to the current one drives soooo nice we had a rental one and it was so comfy the sound system rocked and the engine was torquey as hell with that turbo 2.5. I loved it despite not wanting a dad car lol
The Amarok has been available in the UK and AUSTRALIA from the last few years.
The name Telluride is actually originally as "To hell you ride".
The new Amarok is a Ford Ranger. VW didn't develop a new one and partnered up with Ford for it's Amarok and other commercial vehicles. Even the engines are Ford engines now.
@@Bralo20yeah we all know that 😅
One of my favorites is the VW Toe-rag. Even a friend of mine who owns one calls it the Toe-rag.
@@Bralo20 So slightly better than that Mercedes X-Class pickup, which was just a rebadged Nissan Navara, but more than twice the price. Unsurprisingly, almost nobody bought it so they gave up after 2 or 3 years. Ironically still one of the most reliable Mercedes private vehicles in recent years.
Produced in Argentina since 2010
Hyundai and Kai have been designing great looking vehicles. I'm still suspicious of the drivetrains and durability. It will be interesting to see how they do with EVs.
That's the EV with the $50k battery replacement and no stock for parts
Hoovie I love your expressions as you try to do the balancing act with April, sometimes they are flawless. If you want to see what a guy looks like between a rock and a hard place. She is so great at fielding comments too, very amusing to watch. Great couple!
In relation to where April tried to go at the end here in Australia in the big mines there is a fast growing number of women driving the really huge truck because management worked out that generally they drive them without the cowboy attitude lot of guys have and take better care of those massive trucks. It is also now quite common here to see women behind the wheel of semis and B doubles.
Okay April. I hate liking the new Hyundai Santa Fe as well. Thanks for choosing it. My wife chose the 2017 a year ago, but when I saw the redesign this year I really got excited by it, but so many other people were hating on it and it almost changed my opinion however, I like it too. My wife chose for me the Ultimate Edition with all the bells and whistles with the blacked out wheels and yes Hoovie, I check the oil religiously.
One of the factors I used to choose my Miata was how many bags of groceries fit in the trunk. LOL
The Amarok has been offered outside the US for several years and has had good reviews, it would be in the same category as the Ford Ranger. With the Diesel version, they say you can drive 1000km per tank and have proven to be quite rugged and reliable.
It literally is a Ford Ranger (since 2022 anyway), just styled a bit differently front and rear and a superficially different interior - only (at least where I am) the Ranger is significantly cheaper. It's even built on the same production line as the Ranger - so it's as badge-engineering as it is possible to get. You'd have to be a bit of an idiot to get the VW, since aside from the hiked up price for the VW badge - Ford have a much stronger dealer network here, and they of course will know how to service and repair their own vehicle, whereas the VW techs will be less familiar with them.
BUT it is a lieing cheating VW. We have had them here in Oz for over a decade.
@@Beer_Dad1975 I did not know the newer versions were literally Ford Rangers hahaha! That would explain why they're really not offered in the US and why it does not make sense to buy one when the ranger is cheaper. Where I've seen they are more popular is in places where the Toyota Hilux is offered and the non-us Rangers are offered.
I'm very happy we purchased a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited last yrs brand new it's been a great car
My wife dailies a C6 Vette.
Winning! 🤘😋
Was all in on the new Santa Fe but it’s kind of underwhelming in person, and the over asking premium makes it even less appealing
Could some mind modding help its cause? Or is the interior not there? If it were available here in EU, I just might...
VW Amarok has been produced in Argentina since 2010
These women’s car award list is a kiss of death.
We need to settle this. Yall two got to race. Hoovie & April track day!
Just saw a new 2024 Santa Fe at 13th & Tyler this afternoon. Dealer tags so I'm guessing you can check one out in person at Hatchett West.
Kia EV9 has the same range as an old Model S because of drag, it has a lot bigger frontal surface area and a higher drag coefficient thus it suffers in range despite a large battery
The VW Amarok is not a new pick up, it has been around for a long time.
New version for 2024. Co-developed with ford. Pretty much the same as a ranger.
Love to see you both review another new or classic car, how about a Plymouth Prowler ?
I wish Studerbaker would come back. I loved the 1947 convertible!
You need to get Neelix to the vet immediately. Unless you want six more cats you only have a few days to deal with the situation.
He has so much space that having a gaggle of “barn cats” might be something that they might like?
@@josebrown5961 Great rodent control on a small farm.
@@fantabuloussnuffaluffagus Still gotta manage them unless want to be dealing with dead cats and the smell of cat urine wherever they make their home.
Especially when they start getting into the new garage and pissing in corners or on the cars and climbing on em.
Hoovie wil love claw marks in the paint of the Countache, am sure...
@@russelljacob7955I guess. My grandma had a farm and she had tens of barn cats and had no problems with cat pee in places. She would put out food for them twice a week.
@@russelljacob7955never been on a farm or around barn cats huh?
You forget the Hyundai Pony….mid 80´s rear wheel drive….rusted out in minutes !!!!
My wife thoroughly researches her car purchases. She often knows more than the sales person about the car she is interested in.
Talking about knowing more than the salesman, a long time ago we were starting to look for a computer in the early 1990's, so we went to Radio Shack to look and ask some questions, it turned out that my pre teen soon at that time had to show the salesman how to boot up the computer. We decided not to buy any thing from him that day.
A side note, my son, now in his early 40's still knows more than most salesmen, he has a career in IT now.
Great stuff again guys
I love the 24 Santa Fe, too!
When the Hyundai Exel came out there was a condo complex in the city I lived in that gave you an Exel if you bought a condo. I don't think when they first came out you could go fast enough to a speeding ticket on the highway.
When they first came out they would dent from the wind of you went to fast.
So the Amarok has been around for like 15 years, but its a new model, that is based on the Ranger
I didn’t see a ‘46 Ford Business Coupe with a ‘55 Chrysler 331 Hemi on that list anywhere! 🤨
The Amarok was launched in Europe in 2012
Nelix is the cat of the year!
Who's a better driver, Men or women? That sound like a good question for Dad Demuro?
The Santa Fe and the Kia Ev9 are basically the same car!!!
The Amarok is basically a rebadged Ford Ranger
Hoovie and April
Sitting in a tree
K.I.S.S.I.N.G.
First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes April doin mad skids in a black Grand National!!!
The Santa Fe...Oh, April. I drew that vehicle when I was 8. It's a small brick stacked on a large brick. My immediate thought was Ford Flex😳
I also like the looks of the new Santa Fe, but that is the closest I'll come to ever owning one.
When are EV manufactures and journalists going to be forced to show an EVs range at various temperatures. What good is a 230 mile range at 75 degrees Fahrenheit, when that range drops to 75 miles when the temperature falls to minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit as it does throughout the northern half of North America in the winter.
I would recommend the Mazda CX-5 for women, and they love them.
Looks like a new Grand Cherokee!
Great content! Santa Fe is nice for men or women 🎉
Neelix!!!! Another fellow voyager fan!!!!!
Almost 60K subscribers!
Criteria dependent award. I assume the range wasn’t as critical, especially if it is a city car. Hyundai reliability needs more consideration, April.
April, welcome to the club. Us part Zombies gotta stick together. I ripped my ACL loose at both ends back in 2006.
Better drivers? Tyler is a smart man. Thank you for watching! 😂
I absolutely hate the rear end of the new Santa Fe.
So, you guys are saying you may get little Neelixes in a couple of months? Like Tribbles, but cute and with personality?
Also, my folks have a 2012 Kia Rondo 6 cylinders. The most reliable car they had so far and they had a bunch. Only thing that really broke on it is the AC and my dad is like: "Meh, we don't need AC, we've got windows".
If anyone even tries to argue that last question they're simping, or just trying to be outrageous.
Well, yeah it's proven men generally have better spatial awareness than women do - of course doesn't apply to everyone equally - but in general, yes - men are going to be better drivers because of this - just as April pointed out women are generally better at analysing fine detail. It's not a competition, we all have our strengths and weaknesses and some of that comes down to our gender traits.
Volkswagen Amerock is a Ford Ranger underneath
My favorite TH-cam channel!
The Santa Fe was perfect till I saw the rear end
If they just put the damn taillights where they belong it might just be the best looking suv out right now
Put them where they are on an Escalade or a Tahoe
No stupid light bars or this stuff that looks like it’s got it’s pants on the ground with its belt at its feet
Sante fe looks like the ford flex
The EV9's battery is a bit of a let down. Makes roadtrips a lot more of a chore to complete than in its little brother EV6.
We had great styled cars in the 50 then into the 60 they got power 70 they got muscle the 80 they started to melt not they have made boxes
That 2004 Santa Fe is still better looking than Hoovies prowler, or that weird retro van thing he had.
How about you watch a review on the Kia EV9 Hoovie and then you'll know why they voted that way.
By a large margin, the best-looking vehicle in this video is the car shown at the 7:58. All the others are plain hideous. Especially all the new cars. Horrible.
I like the looks of those old rounded Santa Fe... 😢
It seems to me, that someone already has a beautiful Lincoln Town Car, that will be 10 times better than any of this new crap. Cheers!
I like the Volkswagen Amarok = looks sweet
I hate all of these new cars with the stupid screens in place of an actual gauge cluster. I'll stick with an older car forever for that reason alone.
Please Spay or Neuter Neelix, Thank you!
Next episode: ‘Goooood morning TH-cam, todays topic: who’s a better driver, men or women’
A hybrid isn’t the best of both worlds. It’s twice the problems with no usable benefits. You could just go all electric now for the same price or less (after rebates) and not have to pay for gas. If you get a hybrid you’re holding on to oil changes and tune ups and smog checks and trips to the gas station that you don’t have to deal with anymore if you go electric, just to get a little more range that you don’t even need. Any more than 300 miles of range and you’re just paying for something you’re never going to be able to use. The only people who should realistically want a hybrid now are taxi cab companies.
Good Morning!
I am surprised it isn't a Subaru Outback or a Forester. I know a lot of women who own either those or a Crosstrek.
Hmm ....How many female drivers in F-1? NASCAR? WRC? That being said....I taught my Ex wife to drive "Autocross" and there were times she set faster times than me in competitions along with being "Fastest Female" of the event....So? Well she didn't do too well in agressive rush hour traffic in Silicon Valley....Me? not a problem!
Get the cat fixed - stat! Unless you're in Arizona, I guess.
4:54 - that looks just like ford flex
9:13 Exactly April, exactly. Always hear, don’t look at me as different, but I’m going to single myself out as different every chance I get. SMH.
Insurance companies report that women get in more total accidents, but men get in the most serious (usually high speed) accidents.
3:11 Looks like a grown up KIA Soul.
She should have done the categories first then pick the Santa fe if thats the best of the winners.
April is right about the Santa Fe is by far a better car for a woman, safe, affordable, easier to repair, much much less likely to leave her stranded in an unsafe place.
Hoovie’s prejudice against Kia/Hyundai shows up again… ugh
They are some of the best values in the market today.
Hi guys just fyi the 1st Hyundai was the….pony! Look it up it was a wonderful masterpiece! Loll
75 is way to small of a sample size to determine that. Hoovie a man's vehicle is a demon 170
Hoovie needs a safe word!
When Americans don’t realise the rest of the world has cars also….
They came with the hyundai pony firstvthen the exel
VW AMEROCK NOT NEW BEEN OUT OVERSEAS FOR YEARS , REALLY EXPENSIVE TRUCK FOR STATES TOO MUCH COMPETITION IN USA FOR THAT VW TO COME HERE
the best move is not to play, good ending lol
20 k is a lot of money when it's 35k vs 55k for the target market. The EV is a non starter . April's choose make far more logical sense good size better price .
Well, looks like Hoovie is going to be getting a Hyundai Santa Fe next. Should fit right in with the typical content as it is a towing channel.
1:51 - Ever?
In answer to Aprils last question… look at the stats in professional racing… or really any racing to see where women place in the few races they even run 🤷🏻♂️
Just here to be controversial 🤣🤣
6:46 Looks more like a Ford flex, long and awkward.
Random thought; notice how Hoovie doesnt gift this gal hoopties like we would to the small asian lady hmm 🤔!😅
April buys her own cars, Asian gal didn’t 🤷♂️
As a Dude, I would nominate for Women’s Car of the Year….2024 BMW X7. Looks great, drives great, and if anyone has maxed-out the volume dial, let me know.
April Rose new spokesperson for KIA Get your new April Rose limited Edition now Look at them Dagmar's wow!🇺🇲👍😁🐊🦩🍔
We are allowed to say anything we want
Too bad the SantaFe will pop like a balloon
Looks like a Ford Flex without the door ribbing.
So ... not ribbed for her pleasure?
