At 32:32ish I looked up from sorting some labs and saw Julies' hands scraping resin out of the work cup. Then realized it was my newest find, Sherry. Hello Sherry!!! You too are going to be a JOY!!! Just a feelin', ya know? Blessings, from Savannah, Georgia USA
Sherry you need some med/Lge fishing sinkers to use as weights, For projects like this! Love the idea, I wonder if you could do mini versions of this as coasters.... just a thought.
Turned out very pretty! But you could’ve done a black & gold swirl background. You would’ve been able to disguise the gold spill but still have a mostly black background.
Sherry, it turned out gorgeous either way but I have a tip that might help you in the future. You already have a Dremel, just buy some pointed tip drill heads for precision and drill out your mistakes. Just make sure to fill it in with clear resin to fill in any scratches. Hope it helps, lots of love, and keep up the great work!
@@baller-vh2kn Yes, when you have Part A and Part B mixed together you get clear resin. There may be a type of clear resin that is advertised as Crystal Resin. It's probably a special type of resin that's more clear or extra shiny or something, like crystals. Don't worry, you got the basics of resin down. This is just a special thing.
You might to try another type of resin. Epodex doesn’t have bubbles and if they do you can spritz with alcohol. I just finished a 18x12x2 1/2 depth which too about 90cc…never once did I have to spritz and I never have to torch. It has about an hour boy life but a working time. Just a thought
@@baller-vh2kn hello, sorry about the late reply but for some reason I never got a notification for your comment. @valeriefuqua4641 explained it pretty good. Most resins are clear unless you're using a colorant or something like a 3D printer.
Don't hurry don't rush you're doing good I'm enjoying watching you nobody likes slow you're real good takes a piece you know what you're doing you could slow down a pinch loving it loving it
Hi Sherry, WOW! Stunning and great persistence with the countless pots of resin. Just a thought for your next peacock; once you’ve set in the ‘feathers’, consider adding a tiny layer of clear resin to each segment, then add a coloured bead of either the gold or pink colour. Then, let that set before you finish off topping up each segment with its own coloured glitter or pigment. Imagine the contrast within each feather segment. Might take a bit of time but the end result would be very satisfying. And…I have that exact same peacock hanging on my fence in my tropical garden right here on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have quite a collection of them scattered throughout my garden so your creation really resonated with me. Well done once again. 🇦🇺🌺🌴👏🏻
I love this! My aunt had 6 peacocks and she would give me all the feathers. I will be looking for a peacock so I can make one of these. It gives me warm memories of my aunt.
Beautiful Sherry, absolutely stunning. isn't it amazing how the topcoat bring it's all to life - amazing. FYI, if you had gone ahead with the black background, you could have painted over those 2 little spots with black acrylic paint or a sharpie pen before putting on your topcoat and it would never have been seen.
It turned out beautiful! I would imagine though you could put an inverted V down below for a pair of legs. I like it better gold though then black. Beautiful! Very nice. Thank you for sharing. PS~ I don't think you should point out your mistakes. I would have never noticed them.
You can steady a Dremil tool by holding with your hand but hold your thumb against the material. You have alot of control that way. Hope this helps . Love your bird
Every since I was a little girl. One of the things I remember from my grandmas house was the beautiful peacocks she had on the wall behind her couch. I’ve looked for them for years. This so reminded me of that. Love them so much and so glad I found you.
I lived in Fort Pierce FL and downtown they have an area filled with real peacocks just roaming around with peacock crossing signs so everyone has to stop and let them walk around. It's truly amazing to see!

another great example of how new ideas in resin never stops, this idea is genius.More and more people are bringing these ideas to the lot of us resin artists.Ive been making resin for over 18 yrs,i litterally have totes full of resin pieces, when i started there was only 1type of resin in the hobby stores, and now with 1000s of pieces im wondering why i do not sell this is mass,i design, make and store them away.Trying to get mysellf more into jewerly design and not the just making,,no what im saying? Lately ive been thinking, what if i sell the products to other artists who take the time to make jewerly..what do you think,,
WOW! I spent last night with you and fell asleep before the big reveal. Well what a beautiful way to wake up. I rewound to the big moment. Absolutely stunning!!! Hope you slept well too!? 🙂♥️♥️♥️
For future reference, if you want to show anything happening right at the edge of the mold, it's better to keep the edge you want to show opposite the camera. Then the lip isn't in the way. I had a great view before you turned it. I just couldn't see anything because it was too far away. Lol, I hear that. I've got two 4' tables and I ran out of room real quick. Artists spread out to fill the space available, unfortunately. Which means there's no room left for more. To prevent leaks, I believe you can just pour a tiny bit of clear resin in the in between spaces or inside the paper towel pieces. Either works because it'll plug up the spaces at the bottom, anchor the the pieces down and being clear, it won't prevent us from seeing what's in the pieces, even when it does leak. Then you can pour colors confidently without any bleeding. Beautiful peacock. I do agree with you that this would've looked more awesome backed in black. The gold bleeds out the gold feathers and changes the balance anyway. Personally, I don't think the little oops was an issue next to the neck since feathers were hidden behind anyway. But you do your best in the moment and you'll always hear a ton of opinions on what you 'shoulda' done. Well...they can do their own!

Clear resin? I though by mixing the 2 makes clear resin? What is crystal resin? The stuff that made it shinny?
