i think minda is great, but i don't think he deserved a shot at the world champ (considering he only finished 6th at WAF worlds 2022). procopciuc, amirshidayan, makarov and zoloev should all have had a title shot before him. just as i expected, nurdaulet won and it's great to see him getting more exposure in the world of arm wrestling. would love to see him square off against the big names i mentioned earlier (procopciuc in particular as they have a pretty entertaining rivalry from previous waf events). hope engin can set something up at this weight with any of the big names.

Of the guys you mentioned, two are banned from WAF rn because Russia and one pulled Nurdaulet at WAF 2022. Emil also hasn’t pulled outside of Russia since the pandemic, idk if he’d be willing to come. Mindaugas absolutely deserved it imo, if not him then someone like Janis.

Nurdaulet then tried to negotiate to pull at 79kg, Mindi agreed to pull, but said not for the title. Then 77kg was agreed upon by both athletes for the title, with 11 hours left to make weight, which they did.
This was an easy win for Nurdaulet. Even though I did not know Mindaugas - I knew he had no chance. At best I expected Mindaugas to lose 1-3 but he couldn't get even a single pin. I wish him luck for his future matches.
