Hey Bino, that goove that you're talking about at 2:37 is actually to allow you to remove the slic pin without having to poke your finger inside. If you rotate the pin counter clockwise while it's in that groove it will pull right out which is super handy. Strangely, I only have it on one wall of the bird where it looks like you have it on both?
@@BinoH grrrrr... and mine is brand new, so it looks like there was a manufacturing error! :( I'm gonna exchange it because I want one that has the channel on both sides!

Awesome piece of kit. I found mine was a bit jerky at first. I reduced the tension ever so slightly and it made it easier to break the initial tension and then it was a whole lot smoother - so much so that I was really smooth one-handed putting Christmas tree lights up in our ash tree
I like those video father and son . You are a good example for your son , in this days when family dosen't seems to be to much . I give a 10 , for both of you .
As a beginner i am really getting a lot of good info from your videos. how about safety, with the zigzag you need the chikane. Is the RRP as safe to use alone.
I knew that this was your Christmas gift from your wife as soon as I saw the video title. Nice to see you and Noah up in your tree! Interesting and informative video! Like your new bearded climber image. Thanks for the video Bino!
nice close ups nice explanation. What I am missing in all the vods I've seen is an in-depth explanation of how it bites or locks onto the rope to keep you from descending. Is it in that middle linkage?
@@BinoH Thank you for your reply. I've just placed an order for Rope runner pro. I just like climbing high trees and somehow get bit by spiders .lol 😂😉 Cheers !
Awesome job, excellent video. I couldn't agree more, I think to buy a mechanical hitch you should have to demonstrate at least 3 rope hitches before purchase, if nothing else just to show competence in rope work and or safety, but I'm old school. Thanks for all you do, stay safe and God bless.
Great job, Bino. I have that same saddle and just bought a RRP. I’ve been using a Hitch Climber and have come to love using the ring on the floating bridge. I’m learning SRT but still use MRS. Giving up the Hitch Climber means losing the three holes, so I’m looking into swivels, but the Master 5.0 floating bridge is flat. Is that bridge replaceable or should I consider a different harness?
I'm an beginner on this sports. I'm considering Harken Ninja foot ascender with Haas Velox knee ascender together with this Notch rope runner pro . My main intention is to preserve my rope longevity as much as possible. Do you consider that is good combination ?
Yes I subscribed a long time ago I like your review on the rope runner pro been thinking about getting one for myself I seen another review seems like everybody likes it I have a blue moon 11.7 as my main climbing line so yeah I think I'll be on there in one I have a zigzag which I love just is not midline attachable thank you for all the good information you put out there really appreciate it
Do you know what the slot on the right side of the RRP is? I found no info in the manual on it and I tried to ask Notch but they never answer my Emails, which is why I am done with them forever but I already own the RRP so I would like to know.
I have a few types. My older ropes Hi v 1/2", Blue Streak 1/2", True Blue 1/2". some of my newer ones Fly 11mm, Sterling HTP 11mm, Xstatic 11.7mm and Drenaline 11.7mm.
Nothing but problems. I've owned this piece for 2 years. Every time I adjust it it's too tight or too loose. Also it trapped me in a pine tree when a little sap got on the device. Just use conventional hitches. They won't leave you stranded or frustrated. Just my 2 cents.

As a beginner i am really getting a lot of good info from your videos. how about safety, with the zigzag you need the chikane. Is the RRP as safe to use alone.
Yes the Rope Runner was made to use by it's self. The Zig Zag was for MRS first and then they added the Chicane to use on SRS.
i know it's kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
I knew that this was your Christmas gift from your wife as soon as I saw the video title. Nice to see you and Noah up in your tree! Interesting and informative video! Like your new bearded climber image. Thanks for the video Bino!

Bino, with all the content you put out, you should put together a seminar.
That would be cool, someday!
I'm new in this sports. What I don't understand is why can't use rescue figure 8 for this expensive gadget ?
The figure 8 is for descending not for advancing.

And I wanna know what it seems to be working the best?
I’m used to climbing on the zigzag!! was thinking about getting this new rope runner
Lmk. Tks
So far it feels really smooth.
@@BinoH would you be able show the size difference between the zigzig and chicane compared to the rope runner pro? cheers

Hey mate do you find that your diy self tending chest click can get stuck in the bird of the rope runner and keep it open? Thus being a hazard ?
That has not happened to me yet. thanks for sharing!

It's not replaceable on the 5.0. Thank you!
Gracias por la explicación.saludos C, Bino
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
How is it any different to a $10 belay ring??
The difference is that you are able to ascend and descend and work aloft.

What slot are you referring to? Is it where the second slick pin is?
@@BinoH It is on the right side, right under the middle swivel pin. it is a longated square protruding out.
@@brerrabbit4265 it looks like it's there to be able to change out the bollard if it whears out.

way cool both of ya got a try , first thoughts were well put . love the information ..

Yo Bino def want too see you put the rope runner in a MRS system!! Maybe you could touch on that next??
It works great in MRS. I love mine.
Good idea I will work on it!
I use a Bat Plate on my bridge to help keep the terminal end of the rope out of the bird.
@@jbcardin I get what you mean the rope is very close while using MRS.
Thanks Bino! How much does Noah (Is that correct?) weigh???
