I understand its a short film on yt. Budget was definitely low and the acting is made by normal people or people who are trying to get into acting. Its perfectly normal that it isnt the best short out there, but respect is given where it is due. Respect to the people's dedication and the time they all spent on making this!
I've saw worse on millions in budget lol actually was pretty good! I watch a lot of recaps of movies and I've saw thousands of horror films in my life...If y'all stick with it y'all will make it big one day!!

@@caiofavero7311 No, I'd rather have an ice axe because it was designed to pierce on a downward movement requiring the least possible amount of energy, meaning that after the penetration the zombie would just fall out of it, not requiring you to make an effort pulling it out. It has a natural swing, with a minimum wrist movement that gains enough momentum with no effort.
I like the effects. Started with a good plot. Actors kinda dropped the ball tho, made it easy to fall out of it. Practice makes perfect tho, so you definitely on the way.

As a former Theater Instructor and Acting Coach I have to say that the acting in this short film detracted from the script and the film overall. The actors are guilty of a common mistake: they SAY their lines rather than SPEAKING them. This is usually the result of actors having their lines and the entire script memorised and are just repeating them since they know how the entire dialogue is going to play out. In real life, with some exceptions, we do not know what we are about to say in a conversation until moments before we speak. (There have been neurological studies that indicate a different part of the brain is used to repeat memorised lines than is used in a conversation.) Any line delivered in a play or film needs to be done so as if the character just thought of them the moment before and is reacting to what is being said in the conversation rather than just waiting until "their turn" to say their line. In other words...treat the dialogue as if it's a conversation that is happening in the moment. This will help to alleviate the "flat" delivery that occurs quite often as it did in this film. One method a film maker can do to alleviate this if it continues to be an issue is to outline what he/she wants out of the dialogue rather than write it out word for word. This allows the actors leeway in what they say, forces them to use the part of the brain used in normal conversation and will hopefully come off more natural. Of course, this method may require more takes and editing. But the end product should be better and thus worth the effort as it delivers on the film makers vision.
I'm not an actor nor into film making but this is what I've been saying all along as your normal critic. Speak with conviction, they are not just words and thoughts but feeling and believing it. Something more organic and brought to life
Just what I was thinking.. I've always wanted to be an actress but have never known the right paths to take.. But yeah it did seem to be a bit flat and no emotion in the acting. Ok it was a short film yeah good story base also, just the acting was not believable and it did sound like it was being read straight from the page/script. But you learn and grow.

The reason the girl probably didn't even cry when her mom and brother died because the entire situation shocked her. I mean- if zombies started chasing you, would you just sit there and cry? Naw, I would friken whip out a gun and shoot the zombies. I'll cry later on when I'm alone. That way- you'll survival and can grieve at the same time!!! : D ever think of that?
One of the better fan fiction films I've seen. Sure the acting could have used some polish, but the overall story was fairly well conceived. Musta been a fun project to work on.
I love watching zombie films like this, created by civilians who have no military experience or tactical training. Trained and experienced personnel would never make the idiotic mistakes depicted in most of these productions, but they are fun to watch.

I have to be honest.. of all the short films I've watched on here, this is the 1st I've watched about 6 times now... given there are things that need work.. I still love this short film.. keep it up.. I subscribed by the way...
As someone who is attempting to make a zombie film and is struggling with ideas, this enlightened me immensely. I loved the beginning where the man was turning into a zombie, as it was wonderfully acted. However there are a few things about this that I think could be upgraded to an extent. For example in the beginning, as the man was turning, he could have shown more symptoms of zombie-like infection. Like foaming at the mouth, wound excreting a yellowish pus, or more growling. But again, this film does seem low-budget and is fantastic just because of that exact reason. Another idea that I would have used is that actors and actresses could put more emphasis into their lines, mainly because they just spoke what the papers said. They needed emotion to bring the story to life, but as I've said previously this is a low-budget movie. An additional point would be the fighting in 4:50 , mainly because she's using a (most likely) plastic water bottle. In actual reality, that bottle would have busted the first zombie you've hit. However, kudos to the panicked / frightened girl trying to pull her brother up onto the roof. Very nice! A second idea is that the gore effects could've been done a bit better, but overall it was decent. Keep in mind that not all meat from the points the zombies are eating are stringy. Mostly the flesh is the stringiest, but that's about it. Intestines are like noodles, and taste awfully strange. But when the zombie was ripping off the mother's flesh from her neck, that made my jaw drop. It was amazingly made and was pretty much in short terms, perfect. 10/10. Lastly when the man with the gas mask around 10:33 was quick and light-footed, he should have been cautious and careful. Other than the way he ended his company 'Ben', it was a fabulous scene. Absolutely indulged me into their phenomenon of a world and what seemed to only be a fantasy gone wrong, it was fantastic. I loved how he rushed to his friend and I could even tell what emotions he was processing in his mind while it happened. I liked how he shot the zombie and managed to keep his composure while obviously he was on the verge of breaking down, and how his breaths were short and light like he was crying. I loved the film otherwise, and it was fantastic. I will most definitely subscribe and like the upcoming videos you publish. Amazing work, Grant Berrios!
You literally had me the second you said "show more symptoms." I think that is such a vitally important statement to make when talking about creating zombie movies. Not enough zombie movies focus on the science, which just makes matters even more terrifying when the most intelligent people in the world can't figure it out and when doctors and people from the. N. SA are unaliving themselves. it's alarming. Everything is telling the onlookers to these horrors that they should just give up because they don't stand at chance.... But they keep going. The science or how the outbreak started, where it came from, the infection route should never be neglected and most definitely not the symptoms. It should be something that would make You rather jump faced first into a endless pool Assorted poop... Rather than be infected with it. My favorite zombies by far... Obviously 28 days later. Because you can't beat fast, quickly. Infectious, red eyes or even train to Busan. I love the way their bodies crack and break. There's something very alarming about all of it. Anyways comma for anyone wanting to make a zombie movie or a short.... Do not neglect the Epidemiology of the infectious agent. Even if you give it in small parts throughout the movie.... Make it worth It! I wish 1 person Wednesday. Make a zombie flip as terrifying as 28 days later, Train to Busan or World War Z. There has not been a single soul to encapsulate that horror Since. yes, there are so many note-worthy mentions!...., but nothing that can top the Previous movies I mentioned unless somebody were smart enough to combine all the biggest horror elements from each zombie movie individually and tweek them together.! Good luck in your endeavors and tag me whenever you finish your zombie short!

I see what you’re saying! It’s definitely an emotional moment, and we did take some creative liberties with the pacing. In the heat of the moment, people can sometimes snap into survival mode really quickly, pushing aside their emotions to focus on what’s next. But I totally get how the quick transition from crying to straight-faced could seem jarring. It’s a tricky balance to capture that emotional rawness while also keeping the plot moving forward. We’ll keep that feedback in mind for future projects!

This is my third time watching and it's still an awsome film did you guys really use a real helicopter for the ending absolutely cool but the james character just shot that dude with the two girls like it was nothing anyway third time and it's still one of the best zombie films of all time can we have a follow up please I'm curious if Casey made it and what's up with James Ihow does he really feel about shooting that guy at the end of this great film I know that if it were me it would've stuck with me for a long time I would've have to struggle with it hopefully a part 2 in the near future

I love watching zombie films like this, created by civilians who have no military experience or tactical training. Trained and experienced personnel would never make the idiotic mistakes depicted in most of these productions, but they are fun to watch.

As someone who is attempting to make a zombie film and is struggling with ideas, this enlightened me immensely. I loved the beginning where the man was turning into a zombie, as it was wonderfully acted. However there are a few things about this that I think could be upgraded to an extent.
For example in the beginning, as the man was turning, he could have shown more symptoms of zombie-like infection. Like foaming at the mouth, wound excreting a yellowish pus, or more growling. But again, this film does seem low-budget and is fantastic just because of that exact reason.
Another idea that I would have used is that actors and actresses could put more emphasis into their lines, mainly because they just spoke what the papers said. They needed emotion to bring the story to life, but as I've said previously this is a low-budget movie.
An additional point would be the fighting in 4:50 , mainly because she's using a (most likely) plastic water bottle. In actual reality, that bottle would have busted the first zombie you've hit. However, kudos to the panicked / frightened girl trying to pull her brother up onto the roof. Very nice!
A second idea is that the gore effects could've been done a bit better, but overall it was decent. Keep in mind that not all meat from the points the zombies are eating are stringy. Mostly the flesh is the stringiest, but that's about it. Intestines are like noodles, and taste awfully strange. But when the zombie was ripping off the mother's flesh from her neck, that made my jaw drop. It was amazingly made and was pretty much in short terms, perfect. 10/10.
Lastly when the man with the gas mask around 10:33 was quick and light-footed, he should have been cautious and careful. Other than the way he ended his company 'Ben', it was a fabulous scene. Absolutely indulged me into their phenomenon of a world and what seemed to only be a fantasy gone wrong, it was fantastic. I loved how he rushed to his friend and I could even tell what emotions he was processing in his mind while it happened. I liked how he shot the zombie and managed to keep his composure while obviously he was on the verge of breaking down, and how his breaths were short and light like he was crying. I loved the film otherwise, and it was fantastic. I will most definitely subscribe and like the upcoming videos you publish.

You literally had me the second you said "show more symptoms." I think that is such a vitally important statement to make when talking about creating zombie movies. Not enough zombie movies focus on the science, which just makes matters even more terrifying when the most intelligent people in the world can't figure it out and when doctors and people from the. N. SA are unaliving themselves. it's alarming. Everything is telling the onlookers to these horrors that they should just give up because they don't stand at chance.... But they keep going. The science or how the outbreak started, where it came from, the infection route should never be neglected and most definitely not the symptoms. It should be something that would make You rather jump faced first into a endless pool Assorted poop... Rather than be infected with it. My favorite zombies by far... Obviously 28 days later. Because you can't beat fast, quickly. Infectious, red eyes or even train to Busan. I love the way their bodies crack and break. There's something very alarming about all of it. Anyways comma for anyone wanting to make a zombie movie or a short.... Do not neglect the Epidemiology of the infectious agent. Even if you give it in small parts throughout the movie.... Make it worth It!
I wish 1 person Wednesday. Make a zombie flip as terrifying as 28 days later, Train to Busan or World War Z. There has not been a single soul to encapsulate that horror Since. yes, there are so many note-worthy mentions!...., but nothing that can top the Previous movies I mentioned unless somebody were smart enough to combine all the biggest horror elements from each zombie movie individually and tweek them together.! Good luck in your endeavors and tag me whenever you finish your zombie short!

I see what you’re saying! It’s definitely an emotional moment, and we did take some creative liberties with the pacing. In the heat of the moment, people can sometimes snap into survival mode really quickly, pushing aside their emotions to focus on what’s next. But I totally get how the quick transition from crying to straight-faced could seem jarring. It’s a tricky balance to capture that emotional rawness while also keeping the plot moving forward. We’ll keep that feedback in mind for future projects!

This is my third time watching and it's still an awsome film did you guys really use a real helicopter for the ending absolutely cool but the james character just shot that dude with the two girls like it was nothing anyway third time and it's still one of the best zombie films of all time can we have a follow up please I'm curious if Casey made it and what's up with James Ihow does he really feel about shooting that guy at the end of this great film I know that if it were me it would've stuck with me for a long time I would've have to struggle with it hopefully a part 2 in the near future
