Thanks Greg. I like practicing and teaching the Kenpo freestyle techniques from a street perspective, as opposed to a sport perspective. They are excellent tools for footwork patterns, target selection, using the equation formula, initiating action, and bridging the gap between sparring and self-defense.
Thanks for your comment, Jerry. It is much appreciated. I still teach and thoroughly enjoy the Kenpo freestyle techniques. I know some instructors believe they are outdated but I find a lot of value in them and my school is very focused on sparring and practical self-defense.
Most Kenpo schools do not teach the freestyle techniques. Also, in case you did not know, I have the Yellow, Orange, and Purple belt freestyle techniques on my channel as well. I love them, practice them, and teach them a lot. Sometimes all I practice are the freestyle techniques to change things up in my training.. Thanks for your kind words, Ryan.
Excellent video! The freestyle techniques have so much to offer I do not understand why more instructors don't teach them.

@@gregdaniels1559 Yes, all the freestyle techniques will be up in the near future. I am really glad you liked them.
Nice vid I remember learning these in the late 80s. Some kenpo schools didn't even teach them. Thanks for sharing 👍.

Thank you, sir! Because I was never formally taught the Kenpo freestyle techniques. I have always wanted to learn them. This is great!
