While I was watching various parts of the interview with this wonderful soul called Eartha Kitt, I'm not done watching all of them, and thinking of all she went through in life, I thought that while she was searching for earthly recognition, God was literally looking after her. And, lo and behold, it's being said in this part of the series. Thank you for posting, a wonderful almost celestial biography.
Hard to watch this. I remember when my mother cried on Mothers Day (2008 not knowing she also would pass away 3 weeks later from a stroke) and missed her mother, my grand mother who died 33 years earlier. We are all hurt children in some way, even when we are old or older. That imprinting of childhood, or lack of one, never ever leaves us. It stays til we are called out of this world. Thank you Ms. Kitt for your emotional honesty...few do that. That requires strength to show weekness.
That Aunt was actually her mother. My grandmother was traumatized by this kind of thing as well because my great grandmother made her think she was a niece until she was 40 years old
It’s sad on how horrible her life was as a kid. You can tell that the hurt young girl in her never went away and it is sad to watch her tear up telling her story. I really hope one day someone makes a movie about Eartha Kitt because I feel like her life story should be told in a biopic.
