      So happy to hear that! We are enjoying the process of making these videos a lot and it helps us relive our trips as well. Hiking Torres was a huge milestone as it was our first big trek. We also have some planning guides in our blogsite if you are heading that way sometime. Thanks so much for the kind words.

      So fun to plan! Torres camping bookings open around late June/July for the 2023/24 season so that’s the key one to lock in early. I have some planning/packing guides on my website to help as well. I drank the calafate juice and want to go back already! Happy to answer any questions you have. Cheers!

    nice video. i'm thinking about going back to Argentina this Oct. or Nov again. WHat is the Rio Electrico shuttle and it goes straight to a bridge?

    • @YYZWanderers
      @YYZWanderers  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Río Eléctrico shuttle is a one way ride to the river just past Hosteria El Pilar to the northern start of the Laguna de los Tres trailhead instead of starting from town. Not sure if it operates in Oct for the winter so check. There are a few shuttles, this is the cheapest one: zonaaustralturismo.com/el-pilar/
      You will hike this route so its one way instead of doubling back. This is the All Trails link El Pilar - Laguna de Los Tres - El Chaltén on AllTrails

    love your DVO. I am planning to travel to South America( Argentina ) for the first time solo. May I ask some questions? Any tips or recommendations on where to fly to and place to stay. Thank you.🙂

    • @YYZWanderers
      @YYZWanderers  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your feedback! If you’re interested in hiking Patagonia, many people fly into Buenos Aires first, spend a couple days there. You can make your way to Bariloche to start and then head south toward Patagonia, stoping in different towns and even all the way south to Ushuaia. Airbnb is popular with many of the places we stayed in and it’s easy as you pay ahead in your country’s currency without needing a lot of pesos / cash on you. Many hostels are listed on booking.com as well which may be better for solo travel if you are on a budget. Buses are quite good as well to travel and don’t need to be booked in advance, just book your ticket at the station in pesos, you will get a better rate. Also take USD $100 bills to exchange at many retail stores, you will get a better rate too. Have fun and enjoy the journey!

  • @martin32694
    @martin32694 ปีที่แล้ว

    May I ask about the money exchange bit? Did you mean you can exchange USD to peso in any retail shop or? Appreciate you help

    • @YYZWanderers
      @YYZWanderers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes we had USD $100 dollar bills (preferred) and many retail shops would exchange them for pesos. Generally you will find a small sign at the cash register with their exchange rate. We read that they liked clean, new looking bills. This was in Argentina. In Chile, we exchanged currency at home before we got there. Hope this helps!

    In el chalten I was impressed with ovajo negro. Wonderful steaks, great crew. How did you get a shuttle to rio electrico? That would have encouraged my friend since he gave up on the first 1 kilometer . But overall El Chaltén is a beauty

    • @YYZWanderers
      @YYZWanderers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes indeed, Argentinian chefs know how to make great steaks! You can book transfers via Zona Austral’s website (cheapest prices). We booked the day prior with a tour agency right outside our Airbnb by the police station on San Martin (2000ARS). Hopefully your friend won’t give up on the climb to the lago - I almost wanted to, it was so steep but it would be a shame to get that far and not do it. One step at a time and your own pace, it’s not a race, 😆 Worse case he can wait at the bottom for you? Good luck!

      @@YYZWanderers thank you. We would consider that next time. I persisted despite the slippery climb due to melting snow and worth all the effort. We enjoyed Bariloche, Ushaia and el calafate as well. Trying chile next year though I had a peek of the place with a day tour from el calafate using the wonderful tour of South Road. Love your videos guys!

    Argentina is more beautiful than chile and much cheaper

    • @YYZWanderers
      @YYZWanderers  ปีที่แล้ว

      We found both countries to have unique experiences of the Patagonia region that are different so worth visiting both. Argentina is extremely affordable for sure! We were surprised at how much cheaper it is - you can get a very nice steak dinner for 2 around $50 Canadian which is unreal!
