If we’re being honest, Heath Ledger’s Joker is the pinnacle of villain portrayals in film. His opening introduction scene establishes how menacing and calculated he is, immediately dispelling the notion that he’s just some deranged killer. And respect Alan Rickman, not just as Snape, not just as Hans Gruber, but also as Judge Turpin (Sweeney Todd), Rasputin (Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny), and my personal favorite as the Sheriff of Nottingham (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves). If you wanted a smarmy villain, with some gravitas & menace, Rickman was the peak.
The villains Chris mentioned are great. Christoff Waltz, Javier Bardem, Daniel Day Lewis and Gary Oldman have played some great villains. Christoff Waltz as Zhan’s Landa is probably one of my favorite villains. He was incredibly sharp, unpredictable and a sociopath. Javier Bardem as Anton from ‘No Country for Old Men.’ Daniel Day Lewis as The Butcher from ‘Gangs of New York’. Gary Oldman as Zurg in ‘The Fifth Element’ and Dracula in ‘Bram Stokers Dracula’. All good actors and villains.
Not better than Heath, but Kevin Spacey as Kaiser Sosay in the Usual Suspects is pretty amazing. ....However the way that the Joker continually lies about his backstory but tells the truth about Batman and Gotham is a masterpiece.
I would probably say antony starr as homelander. His portraying of homelanders Psychopathic mannerisms and dependence of being loved makes it breath taking to watch. Its also giving another layer of weirdness when he gets in situations in which you as watcher does not know how he is gonna act.
I love how much Batmanism is in this video!🦇 Heath Ledger definitely one of the best performances in my opinion as a villain, but Daniel Day Lewis as Bill the Butcher in Gangs of NY is worth mentioning. 🔪
I love theantagonist that has you rooting for them a bit as the movie happens. Think Patrick Swayze in Point Break. Denzel Washington in Training Day. Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects, basically every character in Pulp Fiction. Give me all of those complicated, flawed characters!
I agree with your take on Heath Ledger’s Joker and Colin Farrell’s Penguin. While not a superhero villain, I have to give an honorable mention to Javier Bardem in the role of Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. He’s a legit evil and scary dude who melted into that role. I would never want to cross paths with a dude like that in real life. I also liked pretty much all the actors who played Harkonnens in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Austin Butler… they were BRUUUUUTAL!
I kinda liked that earlier black and gold 5 from about 5-6 years ago. I thought this was a kind of re-release of those. As far as the QOTD I'd still say Heath Ledger's Joker stands out the most in my mind.
On the fence with these... gold and brown doesn't seem to match well for some reason. I like the Milky outsole but that's about it.😞 👍🏾 Nice review as always 🤙🏾I would have to go with Bane (Tom Hardy).
First off, that laugh from Jodi, ranks up there with Vincent Price’s laugh in “thriller”! I agree with you about the brown and gold palette…it’s not for me, but it does remind me of cigars and there was that Jordan 6 (i think) that was. Brown and gold that replicated the cigar…when MJ won the first time. As for the question of the day, absolutely ith you in regard to Magneto 💯 if we are talking about flat out villain, the Joker still ranks number 1 for me all time. As for actor portraying a villain, one of my favorite actors that plays villains perfectly is Gary Oldman….every movie that he’s in as a villain..MONEY!!! Colin Farrell was perfect as Oz…in fact i initially forgot it was him hen i watched “The Batman”…and realized it after I saw the credits. And yes….Critin Milioti as Sofia Falcons, stole the show for me…she was spectacular, but 100% the victim. Come to think of it….not my personal favorite but Professor Zoom/ Reverse Flash….thats a villain. Being from the future…obsessed with the flash to the point you recreate the accident that gave Barry Allen powers, then go back in time to fuck with him? YUP! Villain. 😆 OH! Cobra Commander!!! Love him for some weird reason 🤣🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ OH NONONO….AZULA! 💯🫡
Alan Rickman has great villain range but my top picks would be Heath as the Joker, Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, and Homelander in the Boys. Honorable mention to Megatron in Transformers One.
Kevin Spacey’s John Doe in Sev7n should be up there. Regardless of his personal life situation. Along with his portrayal of Keyser Söze in The Usual Suspects.
I thought at the beginning those were a new rendition of the AJ5 white and gold from years ago, didn't catch the brown midsole. QOTD: Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in The Godfather 1 and 2 is my quickesy choice, but Heath Ledger had a lot of pure evil in himself too. Tough question.
Man, my buddy and I went to see American Psycho in the theater on opening night and apparently we were the only ones who realized it was a comedy. Not sure what people thought of us. 😂
Ledger is all time! Joaquin Phoenix would be my choice... he played the villain in the original Gladiator and Joker. Joaquin Phoenix has so much range.
QOTD: I'll throw in some wild-card nominees: James Cromwell as Captain Dudley Smith in L.A. Confidential, Robert Shaw as Doyle Lonnegan in The Sting, and... Robert Shaw as Mr. Blue in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974). It's a Jordan 5 colorway that looks like it belongs on an SB Dunk. I will pass on this one, but if Nike SB did it with cool materials maybe I'd consider it. Thanks for the review! 5 thumbs up, minus 4 for the colorway, plus 100 for Jodi's reaction = 101. Catch you next time.
i know there was a male version with a similar gold tongue and I can't remember the name. This might be a personal preference. I think it would look better if the tongue was flipped. The jumpman should be gold and the background should be brown.
What is the point in this release!? The colourway mentioned in the video is so close to being the same, with just the midsole being black. Darth Vader is the best villain. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring, Andy Serkis as Gollum are some that come to mind for actors that did the best job portraying a villain
Just here for the question of the day lol….. QOD: who would win a mortal kombat style tournament, Rafael (TMNT), Tommy ( power rangers), Daredevil, Ryu, Batman, Hawkeye (Ronan).
I think the best villain of all time is Freddy Kreuger... and the Actor to portray the best villain is Heath Ledger, Buuuut... one of my all time favorite villains in movie history is Clarence Boddicker. Everytime I'd see Kurtwood Smith on that 70s show, I'd say to myself, do you kids even know what your dad is capable of? 🤣🤣🤣
I may in the minority here, but I actually like these. I’ll probably pass because there’s just too much heat dropping soon. BTW Heath Ledger joker best movie villain of all time.
That borderline evil laugh into the "no" 😂 that said it all about that pair
I thought the same lmfao
Your JK Simmons impersonation was on point!

I like these and the gold hit on the tongue. I think these are pretty dope overall.
LOLLLL "you serious?" 00:31

Jodi didn't even let you finish the sentence she said hell no 😂😂😂😂
They should've made the tongue brown reflective with a gold jumpman
Not better than Heath, but Kevin Spacey as Kaiser Sosay in the Usual Suspects is pretty amazing.

Ngl love the look of these, definitely a little strange but I love brown on js
Me too. I really like these but I will passing on them. $200 is too much for this gal
I love how much Batmanism is in this video!🦇
Heath Ledger definitely one of the best performances in my opinion as a villain, but Daniel Day Lewis as Bill the Butcher in Gangs of NY is worth mentioning. 🔪
1: Just like the Olympics, but with... brown?
2: Between all of his iterations in comics, tv, and movies the joker is probably at the top of the list.
I just figured it out. golden ticket. Chocolate and gold. Willy Wonka
Can’t wait for yall to do the new Flu Games
Idk they kinda look 🔥 the Iron Man 5s
that bloody shark-Jaws
I love theantagonist that has you rooting for them a bit as the movie happens. Think Patrick Swayze in Point Break. Denzel Washington in Training Day. Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects, basically every character in Pulp Fiction. Give me all of those complicated, flawed characters!
Colour is fine, interesting the 23 is on the side!

Jodi with the laugh and the No 😂
Jordan should’ve just rereleased the Olympic 5
Basically a retro of the Olympic Gold Medal 5’s
I kinda liked that earlier black and gold 5 from about 5-6 years ago. I thought this was a kind of re-release of those.
As far as the QOTD I'd still say Heath Ledger's Joker stands out the most in my mind.
I actually like these. But I wear a Size 12 so I probably won’t fit these
Anthony Hopkins. Silence of the Lambs.
“He's a monster. Pure psychopath. So rare to capture one alive. From a research point of view, Lecter is our most prized asset.”
On the fence with these... gold and brown doesn't seem to match well for some reason. I like the Milky outsole but that's about it.😞 👍🏾 Nice review as always 🤙🏾I would have to go with Bane (Tom Hardy).

Dude I always wanted those ones. Seriously.
Kevin Spacey’s John Doe in Sev7n should be up there. Regardless of his personal life situation. Along with his portrayal of Keyser Söze in The Usual Suspects.
This is a release that never needed to happen. Should have just made more black metallics
Denzel in training day because it was sooo far away from his usual roles at the time and Alfre Woodard in Luke cage was up there too.
Deniro: cape fear
So.. what does Jodie think of these?😅 I just wish she would tell us.
1:10 The colors of my high school were brown and gold 😅😢😂
Austin panthers El Paso Tx
I like this color way a lot. I’m just someone who thinks some Jordan silhouettes only look good on men and this is one of them 😬
I think this design is dope. Not sure about the gold tongue.
Have to see them in person.
Dark Vader, Shredder from ninja turtles
My first 5s were a used pair of the wolf grey 5s in the mid 2010s
I might be the only one but I like these
🔥 gotta get em
🔥5s
I thought at the beginning those were a new rendition of the AJ5 white and gold from years ago, didn't catch the brown midsole. QOTD: Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in The Godfather 1 and 2 is my quickesy choice, but Heath Ledger had a lot of pure evil in himself too. Tough question.
I understand why they have a shiny tongue yet I side with everyone saying pick a different material for a gold tongue haha
The OG 1990 "Fire Red" (black tongue) had the 23 on the side.
As stated in the video.
Don't like many Jordan's but these are nice/ok but not bad at all!
Good shoes!
Man, my buddy and I went to see American Psycho in the theater on opening night and apparently we were the only ones who realized it was a comedy. Not sure what people thought of us. 😂
Heath Ledger as the Joker hands down!
I hope the tongue is reflective gold
It's not... He just explained its a metallic foil material.
The shoes...? Nah.... Best villain: Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh. Just pure menace.
no!! the only non og that i love so much is dunk on mars
They hard
These look solid but mrs. Wing is right *lolno *evil laugh*"
I have the Olympic 5 ..i like these ..ill wait for the price to drop
Heath Ledger as the Joker
American Psycho a great movie..the movie was okish if you have read the book.
Ledger is all time! Joaquin Phoenix would be my choice... he played the villain in the original Gladiator and Joker. Joaquin Phoenix has so much range.
I love them but they won't have my size
Not a bad colorway
Colorway looks like the Dark Cinder 14s
jodi laughing is an absolute FK NO! 😂😂😂
Heath Ledger period!
Heath ledger joker by far for me
Solid 7/10
If the upper was purple and gold 23 wouldve been a cool willy wonka collab. Missed opportunity.
And matte the gold make it a little dull
QOTD: I'll throw in some wild-card nominees: James Cromwell as Captain Dudley Smith in L.A. Confidential, Robert Shaw as Doyle Lonnegan in The Sting, and... Robert Shaw as Mr. Blue in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974).

The Mens Gold /black verion sat on shelves for a long time. Those looked good in gold and black..I dont see these flying of shelves either.
dope, but this year got tons of heat like flu game, taxi, white cement 4, sb 4, undefeated 4, 85 bred, so i will pass on this
the gold tongue is a let down to say the least
i know there was a male version with a similar gold tongue and I can't remember the name. This might be a personal preference. I think it would look better if the tongue was flipped. The jumpman should be gold and the background should be brown.
Best Villain of all time: The Joker. Best actor to play a villain of all time - Heath Ledger (RIP)
Any other color than gold would be better
Consumerism!
Just here for the question of the day lol…..
QOD: who would win a mortal kombat style tournament, Rafael (TMNT), Tommy ( power rangers), Daredevil, Ryu, Batman, Hawkeye (Ronan).
It’s funny, I saw these in SNKRS and thought they were gross, but they don’t look as bad to me in the video…
im not fan the gold tongue, but l like the rest of thee sneaker
I think the best villain of all time is Freddy Kreuger... and the Actor to portray the best villain is Heath Ledger, Buuuut... one of my all time favorite villains in movie history is Clarence Boddicker. Everytime I'd see Kurtwood Smith on that 70s show, I'd say to myself, do you kids even know what your dad is capable of? 🤣🤣🤣
Gotta have a RED note app! much ❤ from Chinese fans🎉
this looks like a travis scott jordan 5 minus the golden tongue
Not bad.
They ain't that bad! Give em' a break! Lol
For the Algorithm
William Defoe; Spiderman No Way Home.
Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter
I love y’all!! And they changed the name to “Golden Ticket” LAME ASF
😬
@ yea… Gross
Thanos infinity war/ end game and it’s not even close
OG old head here. I don’t like the “23” on them, also, what does “PE” mean? 🤷🤔
I may in the minority here, but I actually like these. I’ll probably pass because there’s just too much heat dropping soon. BTW Heath Ledger joker best movie villain of all time.
Isn't that just the Jordan 5 Olympics?
Dude from passenger 57
jenny forrest gump
Why can’t they just be consistent with the toe box!!’?? 😡
It’s Biff, no question.

👍
Yeah the gold is a bit much.
