What are some things you guys do in order to have a productive day? Comment down below! *Also, sorry for the blank white screen around 12:04. There was supposed to be a title there but I accidentally made the text the same color as the background 🙃😂 Title says: Being productive is more about how you run your mind.
Your house looks hella DOPE. After seeing your home office tour, I literally want to see your whole house 😅 your interior design skills are just *chef’s kiss*
If you want some morning tips, this may seem a little tough at first, but I wake up at 4:30AM, hit the gym/or exercise at 5AM, cold shower at about 6AM or 6:30AM and then I have a full level of energy for the day. Allows me to be super productive and then by the time 7PM rolls around, I relax and chill and about 9PM, I'm sleep. I'm a writer/filmmaker so that structure helps for remaining productive, well rested, and I get to avoid the burnout. I eat about 2-3 times a day as well.
These are awesome tips! One thing i struggle with is sleeping early. I am such a night owl and idk why but my brain just wants to work into the night. Need to readjust because I prefer morning sprints
@@edwardleefilms I gotcha! I won't lie, it's hard sometimes because my brain is firing on all cylinders between 9pm and 3am! A good friend put me onto a sleep journal (and I literally keep it by my pillow), so if I'm having a really good dream or something, if I wake up, I jot it down ASAP! Then go back to sleep. In the end it's all about balance. You got this. You're not only hard working, but you're smart. You'll have a comfortable, productive schedule in no time!
Totally resonate with how you define productivity. We are human at the end of the day. Especially with what we are going through with the pandemic, we can be down on ourselves for not being “productive”. Thanks for reminding us to be kind to ourselves but at the same time to push forward!
When you’re a mom, you’re brain is also always working (like yours) to ensure house and kids are all taken care of! But you need to find a way to disconnect and relax your thoughts (guided meditation really is beneficial)
Love this video - cus its real. I like it better, when its basic and down to earth and not like " I stand up 4 am to go for a 3hr run and then i´m highly productive ever single day of the week and i´m still able to manage family, friends and my personal education at the same time" - great video!
hahaha laughed out loud as I was reading this comment! Thanks for typing it out. That was kind of my mentality too so I wanted to create a video that was more authentic to me and what I actually do (realistically)
Great productivity ideas. For me, I break up my areas of attention to home, work, self, relationships. How much of each day I spend on each depends on present circumstance, but the general goal is to not let any one of these areas become neglected to the point of crisis and interruption. When all areas are relatively calm, I tend to spread out my day in equal portions, alternating among them every 20-90 minutes. My evenings are spent setting up the next day's activities (I'm not a morning person, so it helps if everything is well-staged, and I have sent emails or handed off work to another team member so they have what's needed to start without me first thing in the AM). By mid-day I'm checking on progress on delegated tasks, checking the horizon for incoming work that can be prepped, and getting into my productive, deep-focus hours.
Wow some really great practical tips here in your comment! Thanks so much for taking the time to type this out. Will be taking some of these tips and trying to implement them in my own workflow
Thanks for being real Ed, I think you're on point about the importance of mentality. Life has ups and downs, so we have to learn to adapt with life throws at us.
I've recently been chunking (putting all school tasks, work tasks, meetings) and that helps me a lot in terms of achieving deep work and not having scatter brain haha
Dude! When I watched your video that was recommended to me. I thought you had more views because it was just aMAZING and your voice is just so relaxing to hear. KEEP IT UP YOU! One day your youtube will going to boom!
love the productivity tips bro! glad you had a disclaimer about treating this as guidelines and not the bible. life happens and we need to be flexible with our schedules and workflows. at least for me. keep it up my guy!
Love your work. Just a reminder that direction comes from consistency and trying different things. As your channel grows you will grow with your audience. Keep it up
really enjoy ure recent vids. great content/ delivery to the point w just enuf vid creativity and w/out the added xtra fluff over performing. hope u do more! maybe deeper look into ure tools (abt to check out identity) and/or tips& life as a photographer. thanks!
Really enjoying your channel. This video has made me think about the way I run my days and how I can improve it. I would be interested in photography videos as this is a hobby of mine that would benefit from advice on how to improve.
2:20 imagine waking up in the morning, setting up a camera outside the door, come back inside close the door and then open it again and feel the fresh air outside 😂😂
Just discovered your TH-cam and I’m obsessed! 😂 love the superhuman email interface! It’s so clean, crisp, and sharp! Will have to check it out. And yes, we all need to find that balance in life. Work can over consume us. We need to step back and breathe for 15 minutes during the grind. Hiking and workouts help for sure. And stopping before this comment gets to be a novel.😂 Thank you for creating these inspiring videos appreciate your time!
Edward, thank you for the video! Your tips and inspiration are amazing. I really like the design of your home. Just keep doing what you are doing on TH-cam. What you're doing with your channel is really great. In terms of what we value as an audience, it's the creative content you share. I would also be interested in your Notion tips if you could also share your Notion template. I find it very helpful in planning my days.
Great video as always Edward! Could you do one on how you go about managing your social media? Do you have a calendar or plan for your Instagram, and how do you come up with ideas for your photos and captions? Do you batch shoot content? You always have really good captions and cool photo ideas
Yo Edward just wanted to know I love how sincere your content is! I got a question for you, are there any other designers you follow on youtube that you like to watch?
@@edwardleefilms thanks for always inspiring us. I love your creativity and with you I started my new Instagram lols and just to apply the things I’ve learn from your videos.
Having a plan for the day is so important, but equally important to have leeway and flexibility! And +1 on breakfast *not* being the most important meal of the day 😂
Hi Edward I loved your video! You were talking about superhuman. I’m college student and I was wondering if superhuman could interface with my school calendar which is in my school canvas. On my desk I have all my school notebooks, papers, it’s messy and it bothers me when I’m working to have everything out. Do you have any recommendations for students keeping a clean look on their desk?
I would reach out to Superhuman before signing up to ensure that your school calendar will integrate! Also for papers, I would recommend getting some sort of file organizer, drawer, or even a desk mat that can hide some papers underneath. (look into the orbitkey large desk mat)
Hi JM, Alana here from Superhuman! While we're working on more robust calendar features, I wanted to mention that Superhuman has a special rate for students: $10/month for students/educators with a valid .edu address :)

Thanks for watching and for the comment :)
I like this guy over that Justin Tse guy 😂
I love how TH-cam recommended this to me when I need it literally right now
TH-cam be watching us too closely sometimes right 😂

hahaha its just the good angles and corners. eventually when the house is finished, I definitely want to do a house tour!

Yes! Don't forget to be kind to yourself! Always.
I stay productive by writing down my 7 goals of that day and working from most difficult to least difficult. Works surprisingly well.
Yes! I have a hard time with this sometimes but I try my best to follow it
Love that last 2 min of honesty. Love the quality of your content and softness of your tone and suggestions. Just watched half your video list
