The stories are mind blowing. But I gotta say, watching the great Leland Sklar rock from as close as his iphone allows is just the coolest thing in the world! From one who has recognized your musical contributions for years, thank you sir, for showing how you can still plus things.

I found these a few days ago and can't get enough! Thanks Mr. Sklar for doing these faithfully for us. I'm such a fan of your bass playing and stories. Not often I see someone playing the Dingwall, either. Love my Dingwall and Sheldon is a super guy.

Awesome bass line! I have to say, your daily videos have pushed me another step towards realizing my life goal of being a full time bass player in a reggae band. You are a real inspiration, Leland, probably much more than you realize. And the luxury of getting to study your technique is priceless. I cannot to more than thank you very deeply from the bottom of my heart.

Lee, you're an absolute legend, and to have you take the time and make these videos and give us these amazing stories, and for it to come from someone as grounded and real as you are, it's exactly the kind of feel-good we all need right now. I appreciate you, and I hope I get to meet you and hang out with you someday. I've been a fan of yours since I was a teen... I'm 40 now, and to have this intimate look into your life and your work is not taken for granted. Thank you for this!

A few things. You’re such a welcome light to us that are fans. I really enjoy your stories. Thank you. I turned 61 today, And, the Golden Bear was in Huntington Beach. I used to surf there in my youth. Did you ever record at the Caribou Ranch? I’m a Guercio (by birth) and it was my cousin William Guercio’s studio. I’ve been watching the wrecking crew movies, clips etc. . Unbelievable stories. Thank you. You’re life must be so remarkable. Author, Author.

So rad, thanks Lee, used to have the honor of playing with Carl Mayes of the Merced Blue Notes years ago. They had a tragic manager /band relationship where the band got hosed. Carl’s shuffle was such a treat to play up against. He took a shine to me cause he said I kept it in the pocket. As a 19 year old bass player with long hair and into metal I never understood his comments and jokes. This was 88 or so when we started playing. We gigged together almost every Sunday for years at a few local blues clubs. Sunday potluck and a local jam session followed by a few hours of heavy duty stuff as I remember. Such a learning experience. One of my favorite things about Carl , band leader, would be the way he would introduce songs. “This one’s called, Daddy can’t fly his kite cause Mama won’t give him no tail” or before Lowrider he would say “ this song’s called Nalgas” . So many stories and great music is just soaked up into the walls and a few appreciative ears. Thanks again, rambling.

So appreciate your time and the stories. I've seen The Wrecking Crew a few times and Standing in the Shadows, also having had the book with cassettes back when it came out initially. Outside of all the songs, the stories are so, so priceless. I'm in a very fortunate position to talk to people pretty much across the country in my job. I still am able to remember and tell a story in most states of where they live and have a personal conversation with a random person while working on their problem. I love, love, love your stories and the time you've continued to take to include us in your daily life and look forward to it.
