    Thank you for visiting PERLIS, Malaysia 🇲🇾
    State of PERLIS is underrated tourism destination among international travellers/tourists (except for transit at Padang Besar & Perlis Jetty to Langkawi).
    They (Perlis people) live in a happy & simple lifestyle among peace community. I just adore with Perlis scenery when I witnessed scattered lime hills across rice fields! It just like couples of rocks purposely thrown on earth by a giant.

As usual, the authorities in perlis were not helpful including politicians, so they published it in their nespaper. It took 2 weeks to clean the bloody place. We need to thank vlogger "vlogging a dead horse" who highlighted it. It was dirtier than klang where I live. Shocking. Klang is similar because of local council. Same with semporna in sabah.

    Lost in translation .There is no meat in the souped noodle that you ate. It has grounded prawn.😅 Seafood is not perceive as meat. Meat in Malaysia typically meant flesh of land animals . Big misunderstanding.🤗🤭🫢

  • @nusabudiman
    @nusabudiman ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Meat can also be understood by the local as "daging' which means "beef". So they don't add "daging" or "beef" but add other things.. 😂
    So next time for a fully vegetarian dish you should say "saya tak mahu daging (beef), ikan (fish), udang (prawn), sotong (squid), ayam (chicken). Saya hanya mahu sayur (vegetable), tauhu (tofu) dan telur (egg) sahaja". "Saya tak mahu" means "I don't want... " whereas "saya hanya mahu" means "I only want... ".
    Sometimes if you go to a more remote village, you need to communicate with them using local language. They understand basic English but might not understand it fully. Hence, the miscommunication. Learning simple Malay is not that hard I think.
    It's generally difficult to find vegetarian Malay restaurant in Malaysia. But there are lots of vegetable dishes cooked in Malay styles either stir fried, souped, grilled or curried with santan (coconut milk) which are delicious. You can find these vegetables dishes in all Nasi Campur (Mixed Rice) Restaurants. But you need locals to help you choosing which dishes are vegetarian and which are not. You can always ask them when you are in Nasi Campur Restaurants. I'm sure they are more than willing to help you choose the vegetarian dishes.
    Nevertheless there's a lot of Chinese or Indian Restaurant in Malaysia that's fully vegetarian. Different cultures have different types of cuisine and different types of dietary intake. Malaysian cuisine is so diverse.
    Enjoy the rest of your travel in Malaysia! ❤

    I think there is some misunderstanding. I know meat means any meats. But when you say meat translated to daging (in Malay) they usually think cow's meat. So you need be to more specific.. say no or saya tak mahu (I don't want) or jangan letak (don't put) daging (beef), ayam (chicken), ikan (fish), udang (prawn or shrimp), sotong (squid), makanan laut (seafood), Telur (eggs).

    I would say Perlis has the warmest climate in Malaysia... more tropical than equatorial.... the rest of Malaysia is Equatorial...

    In Malay communities is very less people have vegetarian dietary. And when they mention no meats is mean no beef but can hv chicken or fish, and they less knowledgeable about vegetarians especially in the outskirts/rural area. So next time when u order remember to mention to them fried rice / fried noodles kosong( in Malay word mean nothing/ empty). I am vegetarian also, I faced this issue before while in Kelantan last two months I told the owner the same word at the end the food came with chicken. So I bring back to owner and ask for change. Luckily there is other guest who know what’s vegetarian mean and help to to explain to owner and teach me how to order.

      @@SilkyRonTheRoad yes we enjoyed cos only me is vegetarian among my other siblings. U can try their nasi kerabu just with the veggies n rice and sambal if u can consume onion n garlic or shallots n leeks. But ask first before u take the sambal some time the sambal have anchovies and belacan (shrimp paste)

      @@SilkyRonTheRoadyou say this sentences "Saya tak nak daging, ayam, ikan dan telur. Saya hanya makan sayur sayuran." it translate to "I dont want meat, fish & eggs. i only eat veggies."

    • @bengtee6052
      @bengtee6052 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can only take fried rice or noodles if they want veggies only, cause most of soup broth mostly make from meat or fish.

    Sorry you didn’t get your vege food. In Malay language, meat or “daging” in Malay refers to beef. Thus “no meat” may mean “no beef” only. Moreover, it’s not normal for Malays to eat “vege” food only.
