Many fans feel this is the most impressive song she has ever done, for there is no way anyone
would believe that a 10 year old could produce this type of performance that sounds as if the
singer is an adult jazz singer of the highest order. It would have zoomed up the charts had it been
released but her mom Sara didn't allow it. Could have been her age, but it must be noted that there
is a mention of a self-inflicted drowning/suicide and Sara was very strict as to the lyrics Angelina
was allowed to perform at this stage of her life.

The song was written by Baby Fuzz and Angelina sang it first as a demo then it was released later by Baby Fuzz. While this is a favorite of many angels it is one of my least favorite songs that she has performed. Something about it just hits me wrong, perhaps the same thing attributed to her family. In any case, so many people like it that it would probably been a benifit to her career if it had been more widely released under her name.
there are a lot of rumors. Actually, it's her song because she sang it first, but only as a demo. I think it's quite simple, the song would have gone through the roof, and for her 10 years on this song and how she is protected by her family, it would have been too early with the hype that followed, and as has already been mentioned, without a record deal it would have been difficult to release this song and only others would have benefited from it. but that's just a guess on my part

The reason it wasn’t released is that her family didn’t like the theme of this song - suicide- as being appropriate for a 10 year old girl to sing about.

This is a song by Baby FuzZ who first recorded it as a demo. The demo was shopped around to different artists for possible recording. Angelina recorded a demo which for whatever reason it was not released. There are lot of speculations why it wasn’t but the truth is that we don’t know why. At a later date someone managed to access Angelina’s demo and leaked it. Baby FuzZ recorded and released the song shortly after. He was really impressed with Angelina’s demo and decided not to copyright it even though he received lot of abusive comments on social media for the false accusations that he prevented Angelina from changing the lyrics which was completely false and unsubstantiated. The video is a fan produced video and includes images of Angelina at different ages

We know exactly why it wasn’t released. Sara, Jordan’s mom, knew it would be a global hit and destroy her 10 year old’s life. It’s as simple as that. It has nothing to do with the lyrics. After all, she sang Gloomy Sunday on NGT when she was 7 years old, a song totally about suicide!

Its kind of her song Jay, A song writer friend of angelina's Baby Fuzz sent a demo of this song to five of his friends to help him put evereything together on it, Angelina being one of them. How many writers do you know that send a song Demo to a ten year old for their advice ? A smart one that knows Angelina's talent ? When he didnt hear back from anyone he recorded himself and released it , While doing so he accidently released Angelina's version of it at the same time. Everybody liked angelina's version better. Angelina's mother didn't want her to release this song cuz of the last verse in the song being about suicide. Want to stay around this age tro Born to Die and Lovin You. This was a demo. Written by Baby Fuzz at a songwriting workshop. As far as l know she is the first to record it.
She does the vocal arrangements and has some control input on the music as well at this age. She chooses all of the style elements of her vocals. She also chooses or declines all the songs she sings since she was 7 years old, her family would not let her sing explicit lyrics but otherwise she had free rein to sing what she wished. In addition to my comments below Angelina's family did not want her to become too involved with the recording industry at this age, they had already turned down record labels, and Disney, that wanted to sign her because they felt that she deserved to have a normal childhood and not be put under the kinds of pressure that a full career would have subjected her to. The title of her most recent EP, Old Enough, pretty much sums it up. She is saying that now she is ready. She just finished school, another of her families demands, at 17 and is in the process of getting her career going at full speed now as an adult of 18.

Another amazing thing, we get our minds blown each time when listening to them over and over. Have heard this one a hundred times and still...goosebumps. One of her best ever. Someone in the studio knew it was too good to not be released. She did this newly written song as a demo for Baby FuzZ, who also later sang and released it. When we say she’s special this is one of the many reasons why! 10, almost 11 but still 10! This was a demo of a song by Baby Fuzz, and as I understand it, she was the first to actually sing the song so it’s not really a cover but definitely not her song. Why is it not released? Nice reaction, Jay. This really is, without a doubt, one of Angelina's most incredible performances. It's really a shame that it couldn't be officially released by her, as this masterpiece would have deserved to be the first track on an EP by Angelina. I think we can compare her vocal abilities in this song with the ones she recently showed in "Bad Valentine". There is a kind of relationship between the two in terms of their vocal approach. Just amazing, from 10 y.o. to 18, a leap in quality while maintaining a unique vocal approach, as judge Bjarte Hjelmeland predicted in his comment after Angelina's Summertime performance in 2014, founded on the basis of her jazzy and bluesy vibe.

There’s only one reason this song wasn’t released. Her mother Sara recognized that it would be a huge hit and totally destroy her daughter’s childhood, something she had been hellbent on protecting since Jordan won NGT at 8 years of age. She’s waited til Jordan turned 18 to finally let her start a truly professional career. Until now, all her concerts have been to raise money for charity or at jazz festivals.
I’ve read a few times that this song is about suicide, and her mother thought it was inappropriate for Angelina to release it at the age of 10. I don’t know this for a fact, though.

Nope. No, definitely no. I have been following Angelina Jordan since 2017. That unfounded rumor cropped up as soon as this video was discovered… around the time Back to Black was officially released. IMHO, people projected what they knew about B2B upon this mysterious video. It seems like every couple of months this song is discovered by new fans and the false rumors crop up again. 🙄😕 One could speculate that the overall style of this brilliantly written song just didn’t fit where Angelina wanted to go with her music. But again, it’s *ALL* speculation. The idea that the song was primarily about suicide and Sarah didn’t like it is ridiculous- Angelina broke into world fame singing “The Hungarian Suicide song” when she was seven! (Gloomy Sunday).
Please don’t spread false information about what essentially is Angelina’s “crowd-sourced” biography.

Again, the following is my opinion. Baby Fuzz’s first edition of this song sounded very different than his first one, and it’s no longer available. Don’t get me wrong, Baby Fuzz is a great writer, but he’s several steps behind Angelina Jordan's voice.
This song wasn’t released because, firstly, Angelina Jordan didn’t get the rights to release the song, and the leaked version of Angelina Jordan’s version was released two weeks before Baby Fuzz released his version, probably by someone within the Norwegian camp who wanted the world to know that Angelina Jordan sang it first. The song was written by Baby Fuzz, Aksel Axxe Carlson, and Ronny Janssen. Secondly, he or they wouldn’t allow her to change the words during the part of the song where she talks about putting her head underwater and drowning, as their family was dealing with several suicides within a few years of the release. The third reason was that she was only 10 at the time, and her Shield-her mom, grandma, and uncle-didn't want to put her in the industry yet. You could easily tell by the title of her first EP, “Old Enough,” which she released when she was 17.

It is not very helpful to spread misinformation as facts. I have a screenshot of Baby FuzZ reply to a comment before he disabled the comments on the video. He says "Anything on Angelina demo other than her vocal was taken from our original demo....."
There is nowhere on record that Angelina or anyone in her family stating that she didn't want to release it because of the lyrics.
As for the copyright issue, Baby FuzZ in an interview said that at no time there were any discussions with Angelina's team about releasing the song.
Maybe one day Angelina or her manager will disclose the reason why the song was not officially recorded and released.

@@davidtouma4878 I think that I have contributed to the confusion in my attempt to be helpful to the host. For so many of us our goal is to increase attention to and respect for Angelina but we all have to recall and sort information that we have picked up during our AJ journey without there being an easily accessible and authoritative source of information. How many times have we read that she can play guitar, piano, flute, and violin for example? This could easily lead someone new to her to believe that she pick up these instruments and play at a professional level when in actuality she uses a guitar and piano as tools in her vocal arrangements or songwriting and can accompany herself in a performance only if it is a relatively simple peice. Angelina is such a genius, and powerhouse, as a vocalist that she really doesn't need anyone to build her up with dubious information, her abilities speak for themselves. As you say, our intent is good but we just lack full insight into what is actually fact and what is speculation. In other cases Angelina may have said something when she was a small child and then people want to apply it to her now when really she may have changed what she does, thinks, or wants many times in the interim. ❤
