For 1v1s, I love to preset the nozzles to full vertical, cut throttle, pull diagonal up, and the second that the VTOL kicks in push full throttle and snaproll into the hover mode. Works phenomenally with the R-60s, and is consistent when you get the hang of it. Fun, too.

I'm only tier two and don't get to play all the time cause of medical school, but for those 4 hours or so a week, I'm having a blast. Some matches are really bad, some are really good. I think too many people are focused on grinding to get the next plane rather than enjoying what they have in their inventory. I mean it makes sense when you think about it, what are you gonna do after you get that plane? get more planes? it never ends
Just got the yak38m and r60s promptly afterwards but never get to use then DUE TO THE PROMPT ABSENCE OF FLARES AND CHAFF ON A 9.7 VTOL SUPERSONIC AIRCRAFT
They are distance fused, I set them with a 1000 meter fuse and then depending on the br and velocity of the plane head on I will launch it from 1.40km to 1.60km (also I have about 5500 hours but believe me with these rockets it's all about practice.
All I need is to get the crew and then I will have the dream jetbof my life ever since I started playing ussr which was around the time I started, but not took like 5 long ass years
Now the Yak-38 is fun in AF but man the Heavy Aviation Cruiser you takeoff from in test flight would be glorious in NF even if the largest cannon is a 100 mm Semi-automatic cannon but man 8× AK-630's would be worth it.
@@PyromaN93 Doesn't need the missiles to be usable as there's a few missile armed vessels in game without them (both Sparivero class PGH, Chikugo class FF, Type 143 FAC) plus the ships coming soon (Hamburg class destroyer practically a larger Köln class Frigate but with the Nord Exocet AShM's), Also we have the P-494 with the Nettuno AShM's in game for a start. Still it be epic to control and it's armament would be 2×1 100 mm, 8×1 AK-630 10× 21" tubes and RBU-6000 ASW rockets have flight deck for some to land on plus it's bigger vessel then that blasted Ise class. Anywho the CV/Cruiser added in 2.01 are actual NF models that players in custom missions can control which we may see even RB NF EC, ASB EC & just some ARB maps.
VTOLS are great for SIM starting from the carriers, doing bomb runs against enemy ships, going back to rearm and do another run and farm cash and reserach points that way, also by destroying ships you grant your team victory points. I destroy normal ships tho because Im afraid of attacking enemy carriers xd Its much easier and faster to do it in a vtol aircraft, sometimes you only have carrier spawns and sometimes, carriers are very close to enemy ships so you dont have to fly to the airfield
How long did it take to get that far into the tree? Ive been playing for like 2-3 weeks and am almost through tier 2 but I heard the grind on this game is painful but I haven't experienced it

they arent, and never were, proxy-fused, instead they are distance fused which means i set them to explode after traveling 1000 meters, when they reach that distance they explode, how to aim them you might ask? well you simply practice to see when the timing is right, depends on your air speed, the enemies air speed and if you two are in a head on or not

Well honestly it's kind of hard but if you focus on grinding Ge and then buy a GE premium it might be easier than actually grinding the tech tree
