Everybody commits mistake. She looks like a hypocrite. She is so unprepared. In USA in Sunday paper the next day, they wrote she lost because of her answers. She could have been the 3rd Philippines who became Miss Universe not Pia. Pia could have been the fourth. Her mistake was all over the paper in America. I knew because I live in USA and I read it. THE PAPER SAID SHE COULD HAVE BEEN MISS UNIVERSE. Just shut up if you do not know nothing. She was the judges favorite. She was number 1 in everything until that question. People can talk about Venus Raj's major-major flub in her Q and A in MU 2010, but finishing in the Top 5 out of 83 contestants is very impressive since the PH went the entire 2000s decade without anyone being placed.
Also, Raj's journey to make MU 2010 is remarkable when Binibining Pilipinas dethroned her due to alleged inconsistencies in her birth certificate and needed the Department of Foreign Affairs to step in and overrule BPCI due to the virtue of the jus sanguinis principle.
Had Venus not competed in MU 2010, the Philippines' would not have the tremendous amount of success they have in this decade in beauty pageants and a lot of girls would've turned their backs on BB Pilipinas and join other organizations like Miss Philippines Earth.
There were two moments in this decade that made the Philippines' a major power player in the beauty pageant scene.
1. Venus Raj saving the Philippines in Miss Universe by being placed as fourth runner-up first time a Philippine beauty queen was placed in Miss Universe since Miriam Quiambao's first runner-up finish in 1999. .
2. The pageant reshuffling in 2011: ABS-CBN took over BB Pilipinas to go along with their coverage with Miss Philippines Earth and Miss World chair Julia Morley ending her contract with Stella Araneta and gave the Miss World franchise to Cory Quirino who rebranded it as Miss World Philippines which was aired in GMA.
