IDOM had a great run. Both Kawano (winners bracket) and IDOM (losers bracket) both went undefeated in their perspective brackets. IDOM slaying through 3 straight Japanese powerhouses (Daigo, Tokido, and Gachikun) It was not until the Grand Final when it came down to the final last round (with a losers reset) to make it one of the most memorable finals in EVO history. Congrats to both.

@@thehillza They didn’t give him a reason. Everyone assumes it’s because of the domestic violence case he had a few years ago, which his girlfriend at the time falsely accused him of being an abuser. Capcom banned him 2 years which he patiently waited and he was still investing time to play pro in their own game, then Capcom sent him a notice stating that he is permanently bann from all tournaments. This is what happens when Capcom and other companies take control of the competitive scene that people created. They bann the best players, filipino champ, and Infiltration to name a few. Bro thank god, I can't stand Americans winning they won't shut up about it. They are literally people on twitter saying Idom is better than Kawano even now. Kawano adapted perfectly in the last set, read all his command throws with v shift. Also Americans dont realize that Japan didn't even send all their best players, Momochi/fuudo/Bonchan/Fujimura many more. Tokido did get destroyed by Idom but I dont know why he didn't just play Luke.

And I think the Japanese players didn't lab Laura because they consider her "low/mid tier" and so, even with these other players, Idom would destroy as it did. clearly they had no answers for Idom's Laura. MAYBE it could be different if Idom used Poison because Fuudo's Poison is strong.
Anyway, Kawano showed great adaptability and knew how to take advantage of being in winner's side. And Idom showed great reads and great mind control. daigo, tokido and gachikun are still trying to use their hands on their own. 😄😄 Can't wait to see them in the Capcom Cup.

as I get older, I understand that I need to operate a bit differently in life. you have less mental flexibility (meaning the ability to change approach at will and to DEAL with dramatic changes coming at you). so, basically, you need to train to use your increased stillness of mind; look at aspects of wisdom, using your age to your advantage.
Pride and ego are pitfalls of young and old.
but, imo, planning benefits older people much more than younger people because, when you're young, you can 'wing it' a TON easier (in many different ways).

    Damn!!!
Gachikuns playstyle is very difficult to deal with.

    For kawano
It's his defense that's hard to crack

I have watched all Topanga season this year, literally you can't play footsies with Kawano he will destroy you. Thats why Idom's gameplay was impressive he was doing really well in neutral vs Kawano without almost any jump ins. Kawano didn't make Topanga finals, he lost to John Takeuchi in a close set but it felt more like character difference than player difference.
I think another big reason why Idom did well vs the JApanese players is that they don't have any pro player who plays Laura so they have no experience vs it.
