    It looks good this Seiko, I would take a leather bracelet with it. Thanks for the good review James.

    I like this model slightly better than the one that I have. Unfortunately my boutique didn't have this one in stock so I ended up with the open heart 24hr sub dials. I like them both but this one is definitely on my radar. Thanks James for the awesome video.

      Its funny how I really wanted the open heart first, but now I cant get my eyes off this one. The power reserve complication is a nice little addition.

    Beautiful watch James, and I agree that power reserve is very cool and done better on this watch rather than the little complication that sometimes crowds out the dial. Great job on the review as always my friend

    Thanks very much for the review. I ordered its stablemate, the presage SSA451, which has the faint green tint on the dial and a leather strap. I don't have a need for a pure dress watch and I thought the SSA451 would be a modest jack-of-all occasions watch. It has the fixed diver's bezel, which makes it look sporty. It's arguable that a diver's bezel that does not rotate is not any worse than men purchasing watches with a proper diver's bezel who will never learn to scuba.
    For me the date dial and power meter are useful features. I may have been winding my other Seiko too much, seeing how much the power meter moves with one turn. The date dial is a welcome change from the date window. I always feel that the date number does not line up exactly with the bottom of the window with Seiko watches. That single smaller dial within the watch dial is a nice look.

    James another great review, again I would remove that bracelet and replace it with a quality leather strap. That dial is awesome indeed, the seconds sub dial looks terrific and that power indicator is super. I think with an increase in water resistance to 100 metres I would be sold!

    • @WATCHingJames

      It really is something a bit different and special.
      I have a Barton leather strap on order but it still has not arrived so it did not make it to the review.

    Well done, brother James. All in all, a lot to love about this one. I actually own an Aragon w/ the unbranded version of this movement. The "SII NE57." As one would expect of any movement w/ a 4R-base, so far I've found it to be both rugged, and reliable. I do think that this is the perfect position for a power reserve indicator. The dreaded "clasp gap," is a large pet-peeve of mine. The SARB-033, along w/ others, suffer from this unfortunate oversight as well. At that price, I find it to be unacceptable, but not necessarily a deal breaker. Pleases keep up the great work, and wear this one in good health, my friend. Cheers...

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. It is disappointing at this price that Seiko can’t put a little more effort in.
      But I can already say it will not stop me buying another Seiko 😁

    Hi, Thanks for a great review. I'm contemplating to get this watch but not sure about the thickness. Has the thickness of the watch ever bothered you?

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A little bit.
      It has been fine to wear. But it lingers in the back of mind that it should be thinner.

    I really liked the look of this one but I assumed the subdial was a small seconds & the bezel was ratcheting, dissapionted. It's a looker though.

      I was definitely confused when I first saw it. But as a whole I think it works really well.

  • @garycollard1981

    I like this one...but obviously not that price. The clasp could really bug me as I'm one of those weird people who wear watches on the other side of the wrist so I'd see it more than most. The power reserve is a cool feature and I do like the date dial, nice change from a window type. I only have one watch with a date dial, a rather battered old Sekonda with day and date on dials.

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this will be a great option if you can get a deal on it.
      I think it will look great on a leather strap too. I’m just waiting on one to arrive that I think will suit it.

    I’m looking at my omega aqua terra small seconds and looking at the seiko and feeling like I really want the seiko too
    Love the crystal on it ,overall it’s a stunner ,especially with all the hands and deep 3D effects it has
    It’s a great watch for someone that doesn’t want to spend to much
    Clasp is the only let down but I do prefer a strap ,a sailcloth specifically

    It's a very nice watch James, never seen this one before. It looks fine, but might look even better on a stressed leather strap. My only issue with that, is that they have solid links, a decorated rotor, a milled clasp, even though not perfect, a signed crown.....and then they put a mineral crystal. It's about time Seiko start putting sapphire on all watches, even the Seiko 5 range. In comparison to some other brands, particularly Ali Express ones that use Seiko movements, have sapphire crystals and are cheaper, it's not great value. For this watch in particular, there is no excuse for not having sapphire given the price and rest of the specs. And finally if the movement was off that much I would definitely get it regulated in the local watchmakers.

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think we all want more from Seiko but I don’t think they are listening hahahahaha.
      I have a nice leather strap on the way for it. Can’t wait to see how it looks.

    • @aljoschawolff4069

      The glass has a dome. To do that in saphire would put it in other price range. I have an skx013 with the seiko glass and the watch has some marks, but the glass is still completly scratchfree. It's more a theoretical problem than a real one i think...

    Hi mate, on a completely different matter. I know you deal with Ashford in the USA 🇺🇸. Can you tell me why some of their best bargains, especially Tissot, ship only within the USA 🇺🇸. And is there a way around it? Please let me know if you can.
    Thanks

    • @WATCHingJames

      @@WATCHingJames no, I buy from them… maybe 10 or 12 watches in the past 2 years. But now they have those conditions on some watches. I emailed them but did not hear back yet. I don’t mind paying for the shipping. It’s about US$30 per package 📦. They are not as expensive as Jomashop

    the prices you stated are probably without import tax? I love the watch, it wears amazingly well and has a great dial, although my Longines and Christopher Ward watches are quite a bit more accurate than any of my Seikos! I measure the watch-thickness at 14.5mm!

    • @WATCHingJames

      Yes. I quote prices listed for Australia. Too hard trying to figure out everyone’s prices exactly.
      My Longines and Christopher ward are also much more accurate and much nicer movements.
      My Longines runs 2 seconds fast a week.
