Thank you for the video. I had a lower anterior resection on 5/1/24 and about a month later a leak broke through my colon/vaginal wall and so had a transverse colostomy surgery on 6/2 and it’s been a very hard recovery so far. I think even harder than chemo and radiation was last year. I definitely had the moments and thoughts of being better off dead, especially when in severe pain but I do want to live and be there with and for my family. Prayers of strength and hope for anyone reading this.

3 weeks after my ostomy.Thankyou for your tips I am still trying to process it as it was an emergency operation, so it has been a big shock, but I am still here, so very thankful for that.

@@catherinetheobald7627 Catherine, my first time was an emergency to save my life. After three months it was reversed. I now after 18 yrs have a permanent colostomy. I had radiation disease that continued to get worse! You will get used to it and today you can talk with so many others that are living the same way!

On my journey, i have been let down twice by surgeons. The first time i phoned the colostomy organisation, here in the UK, they connected me with a volunteer, and that was helpful. The second time, about a year or so later, the lady said to me,'You are in the same position you were before'. I replied, 'you could be telling me that after my colostomy surgery'.
I realised then that the best form of support is you, yourself. How you handle it, deal with it, your mindset.

Great tips! I just had my surgery March 15 (subtotal colectomy with ileostomy. Keeping it permanently but have decided no "barbie butt" surgery in the works for me for a very long time. Just a personal decision due to bad healing)
I definitely needed these! The IBD/ostomy community part on Instagram has been invaluable to me!
I love your vids so far! Positive and informative and love your sense of humor!

Hey. This was so awesome. I've been trying to look for TH-cam video similar to yours that educates everything in this TH-cam video.Your breakdown really reminds me of the content from Dr Ethan! His tips are totally useful and I actually learned a lot for my studies. He is the most knowledgable Doctor in Europe and he teaches conditions.
I recommend you see his page out and give Dr Ethan a like! 👉 #DrEthanHealth

No question loose fitting pants will be more comfortable to start but he should be able to wear whatever he wants eventually. I hope everything went well and your husband is on the road to recovery!
