This looks fantastic, can it be fitted to a 1275 MG midget engine? I note from the video that you have an adapter which fits to the fuel pump position to prevent crankcase pressure however the 1275 midget block does not have this pump facility. It would be for a standard cam road car so i was lookong at the k100 8 valve, your thoughts would be appreciated.
Our fast rule is if you're going to build an engine from scratch and may fancy getting over 130hp in the future build it as a 16v. If you have a really good bottom end already with a fast road cam etc and everything is good apart from wanting to push a bit further and/or fed up of carbs/dizzy the 7 port is the drop on way to go. You could convert to 7 port in a weekend with engine still in the car etc.
With the exception of certain A Series engines, would it be accurate to say they share the same 76mm bore centres as the BMW K16v head or are they not too far off from each other?
Hi Bobby, I've popped he link on for the K section of our website, there's many ways of doing the conversion from small parts to big packages or engines - have a look through and let me know any queries please, john@specialist-components.co.uk, www.specialist-components.co.uk/index.php/shop/twinkam-16v-conversion.html
Hi, if it’s a Euro spec LT it’ll have 254 deg cams-perfect! If it’s USA/Canada it will likely have 228 deg cams-not so good for n/a probably great for turbo-check the part numbers for 100% before looking for alternatives
The Rs cams will produce more power from 5500rpm onwards, below this the LT crammed version would walk away from the RS cams, so you’d have to keep buzzing the RS version to make the most of them,
Surprised when I looked at 16v heads for these engines and they only cost about a grand. Surprised because 16v DOHC heads for Toyota's K, T and R series engines costs more than the rest of the car combined, and that's if you can find them.

Beautiful looking stuff!
Nice catalogue!
Incredible..
Thanks for the video. Just for road use is a 7 port, supercharger or K1100 best for torque in its standard guise on a 1293

can this 8 valve cylinder head conversion be done to a 1300 A series automatic engine ?
Looks great, but how does the gearbox cope with so much more power and torque? 🤔
im saving up for the 175hp NA engine for my Mini marcos cant w8 :)
Is there anything similar to this for the B-Series? Say, a Chrysler Hemi head swap.
Is there an ideal bore size for this conversion?
1275 + is the easiest to do and best bang for buck
How much is the complete package or engine

I have a k1200 LT top end and i want to do this swap. Will the LT cams work or will i have to get some rs cams?

@@dragmini will i be able to make more Power with rs cams or is it ok with EU LT cams? Cheers mate

we're finding the same with these heads now, the youngest is about 20 years old - makes you feel old, seems like yesterday!
Would this work with a k1300gt top?
alas no - they are not of the flat 4 flavour
Can the 8v be done to a 998cc
yes you can convert the 998 to 8v twin kam - John at SC
Better off doing a turbo and probably much cheaper and higher BHP
Don’t think you will beat one off these going up Gurston Down in your turbo lol
You can put a 16 valve head on it and turbo.
Then your weak point is the bottom end.
