when coming from a toxic and abusive childhood, feeling and allowing one's own emotions is crucial and a huge gift, because you could not = were not allowed to feel them as a child. it is a treasure then.
so if you come from a background like that, do honor and appreciate all of your emotions-also fear, sadness and anger. find a place where to feel them and be safe with feeling and showing them-and if it is on your own.
i totally agree that exploding with these feelings in people's face rarely leads anywhere.
having said this, i do find there are situations where a *little* explosion (no insults or so) and then a consequent pulling back = disappearing does wonders. sometimes people have to see your emotional strength, and yes in my opinion it is strength *as long as you are willing to walk away after showing feelings and if you then make the other person work in order to get you back* .

I think some things are good to know. For example I will read a lot on a guy based on his social media. A man who follows a bunch of Instagram models, naked women accounts and likes womens photos all day and preaches 'religion ' has no life and won't make a good partner. I've worked with men who do this on social media and at work behave the same way about women who walk past, male crude comment, stare women down and are just creepy. So a lot of times their behaviour on social media is not just social media but an extension of who they are in real life. Also my family wouldn't approve of such a guy and it would be an embarrassment for me to have a partner like that. Especially not if they're leaving comments about girls appearances on social media too, culturally speaking

one question though: wouldn't you agree that there is/ can be exceptions where a woman feels and shows righteous anger?
i feel there is a point where i do and should "allow" myself to show that anger and then leave the scene. for example when someone deeply hurts my feelings. to do silent treatment is something that i do not want to experience myself and that i do not want to do to others.
