I am not trying to deter anyone from being his fan, or from following him on social media. I'm trying to prevent people from listening to his bad advice and then destroying their own hair based on what he has told them.

Why does he think it’s funny to act stupid and not know what he’s doing? I hate that he makes these videos giving his “professional advice” then people follow them, mess up their hair from following HIS tutorials, and then he makes a video making fun of them. Thank you for sharing these videos and correcting him and sharing your knowledge on hair. You actually helped me save my hair and I really appreciate you and your videos. Thank you for taking time to give real advice and actually trying to help us. You’re amazing.

He started his career by making videos making fun of people trying to do their own hair and then ended those videos with “going to a professional is always your best option” kind of stuff. It was entertaining and he gave some basic don’t-fry-your-hair advice. Then his channel blew up and became this crud.

“My hair doesn’t snap off, I can do so much to it and it’s fine” then when mixing his formula “I’m adding olaplex because my hair is falling off” 🤔
Idk how the TH-cam algorithm works, so watched, liked and commenting to push this out!

God he's such a menace. I stopped watching Brad when he tried to play himself off as a curly hair expert and absolutely shit talked Manes by Mel. I had discovered him during the pandemic for self hair cut videos, and thank god Mel had one for curly hair that I followed instead and didn't absolutely destroy my hair. I'm so thankful for your videos that call him out - and I hope more people discover his lack of knowledge and stop supporting him.

I was neutral about him until he bashed manes by mell too! And then I was like this guy's an idiot. The woman is a curly hair specialist. WITH CURLY HAIR!!! Like, Brad. Dude. Have several seats.

It makes me so mad that he gives the wrong information and then says, don’t do it at home go to the salon, when his whole brand is DIY hair. On top of that, he claims that one or both of his parents are hairstylist and he grew up in salons. His 15 minutes are up.

The absolute 🗑coming out of his mouth. The message I got is: "Don't do the dumb sh*t I do/ tell you to do if you want to keep your hair." A professional should not be this blasé about damage, breakage, and hair "snapping off"

This makes me so sad & angry. I’ve been a licensed professional for 25+ yrs. My wallet enjoys getting fatter by having clients come to me to fix what Brad said they could do, but it also breaks my heart. I wish he had the same values and integrity as the rest of us professionals. I would much rather spend a few hours working on clients in my chair to give them what I know their hair can safely achieve, rather than several all day expensive service days to fix what was f’d up. My clients are my walking billboard for my business & talent. Please stop hurting and misinforming people Brad!!!

Not sure I am welcome here or have an opinion of value (I am not trained in hair) but he does things I know not to do as a "back yard" hair dresser, and his obsession with blondes is...weird?
I get having a preference or a favourite colour for yourself or having a 'specialty' in an art form or in your profession, but not everyone can be a blonde. I am one of them. Every attempt, either by myself or under the care of a hairdresser has not been a pretty sight. My hair condition suffered either immediately or over time, no matter how gentle I was, no matter what after care I did, my hair just couldn't handle it. It also doesn't suit me 🤷‍♀️ I look morgue ready with hair that is too light. Now if a hairdresser told me to go platinum I would run away before they even had a chance to finish the suggestion.
Another thing I noticed too, he said his hair can take it, then adds olaplex to his mixture because his hair is falling off. Again, not a hair dresser, but i am 90% sure the only treatment for hair that's breaking apart is the stainless steel treatment...because I don't think there's a product on the planet that can save any hair once it's had enough (speaking from experience).
Aside from that, bleaching hair that's already compromised, not bothering to read the directions that come with any of the products, using two chemical processes one after the other and not even making sure you can even do that is dangerous.

  • @fiorellaormeno2487

He literally has videos of people doing a bleach bath and making fun of them. His “guru” ass not once saying any type of tip, disclaimer, or to see a stylist rather than do it yourself… because then he wouldn’t make his money. What’s weird are his fans are based off of his videos of him laughing at… fans. It’s like they WANT to make it on his fail videos….

I remember there was a bit of a fad in the early 00s for people washing their hair with a bleach bath once every week-ish to get blonde-ish hair, at least in my corner of the UK. There was a lot of gingery blonde and a lot of frazzled blonde tips on linger hair, but with the choppy layers that were popular in my university town, it actually looked quite nice on some people. At the time, I think the popular bleach kits were all pretty aggressive ones with at least 30, and probably 40 volume
I know that's a bit tangential to the critique, but I it was a fun time of life.
I just think not to do anything to permanently change the colour of hair at home

  • @DS-ub1jm
    @DS-ub1jm ปีที่แล้ว +3

yes lets just not measure anything so we can never get the same results again... great idea. Like yes doing hair requires artistry but mixing your chems. isn't the time for that, like no wonder his shit always looks busted I don't even think he fully knows the basic shit taught in the first few weeks of cos. school. The audacity to say hes been a hairstylist for 10yrs... i just...how is he gonna teach people techniques they have no business doing when and then not even understand how they actually work? Like the fact that we use so many chemicals in the salon is one of many reasons were LICENSED professionals like NEVER just willy nilly I wanted to scream

And I'm going to have to cut some hair off. More than I want.

Those teaching how to do advanced services like cuts and color online are providing that information for other professionals and unless you have a cosmetology license going into their videos you’re not going to understand what’s going on like many think they do. Pro stylists know it’s unethical to encourage people to do their own advanced services at home, we are aware of ALL of the risks involved. If a TH-camr is demonstrating a new styling tool, or a product, or they’re trying out some new weird gimmicky thing to see if it really works, that’s the hair content that is okay to follow.
