Sometimes when you get stabbed in the intestines they can just be pushed aside instead of being penetrated

I tend to agree with your medical evaluation, to me that is a deep wound.

This might be the first episode of this show that I didn't really enjoy all that much. It felt like something to just get over with. It doesn't really feel thematically relevant to the Joel situation either to me, even though the episode explicitly ties her experience with Riley to what she's going through with Joel. I guess because Riley died she doesn't want to lose someone else she cares about or something? I don't know. To me this entire episode felt entirely too predictable and a little manipulative I guess? Giving Ellie her first kiss, making Riley reconsider going to Boston to instead stay with Ellie near the end. It feels like an artificial way to give emotional weight to Riley dying in the end to me. There was some cute stuff here and there I guess, but it wasn't enough for me to carry the episode. I definitely whiped away some tears during the Frank and Bill episode, but this one... I felt very little.

'Something to get over with' meanwhile it's a massive part of Ellie's backstory. You can really tell who played the games and who didn't.

@@sneekz07 I don't know what that means. Did you not read me saying that my main issue here is the fact that most of these things were already hinted at/straight up divulged in previous episodes? Obviously it's a massive part of Ellie's backstory. What about playing the games could have possibly removed the issue I have with that fact? You can really tell who read a comment before they responded and who didn't.

@@Linkirvana No, their saying that knowing what was going to happen eventually and how it was going to happen, while also knowing what is about to happen following the situation in the present with Ellie and Joel, would cause that 'something to get over with' feeling. I agree with this because its exactly how I felt during the whole episode. Knowing what would happen, I found myself wanting to just skip forward to the end but I truly believe had I not played the games I would've appreciated this episode so much more regardless if there were hints as to what was going to happen in the previous episodes.

@@adityavenkatesh7260 A lot of these people don’t care enough about Ellie to see her back story. 😢
