If I take a job overseas with a US contracting company and I qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, will I and my employer still pay into Social Security? I definitely want to keep my Social Security taxes going so that I can get a decent payment when I retire.

Most likely yes, but I would need more information in order to answer definitively. If you’d like to setup a consultation so I can learn more about your situation and advise you properly, please email us info@esquiregroup.com

Hi! Jimmy, I need help with my daughter Kimberly, she lives in Panama with her 2 children and her salary is $900 per month and my question is how she can do her taxes and if she has to have a bank account here in the United States. What form does she have to use to declare her taxes?

Hi Zeila, please email us at info@esquiregroup.com to setup a consultation so we can evaluate your daughter’s situation and give you a plan of action. Generally, a US bank account is not required. Thanks! Jimmy

*Esquire Group* Does this apply to nonresident aliens who are counted as resident aliens by being married to U.S. citizens? Also what are the advantages and disadvantages to selecting "paid" or "accrued" foreign taxes?

Thank you for your excellent questions. The answers to these questions are bit in-depth and outside the scope of what we feel comfortable answering here. If you'd like to schedule a consolation so we can answer your questions, you can email us at info@esquiregroup.com

I'm a resident of a foreign country and earn all my income here, however I visit every summer for a vacation without working in the states, so I qualify for exemption? Bona fide residency or physical presence? Kindly help!

It is difficult to say without having a full understanding of your situation. For example, do you pay taxes where you live. How long have you lived there? How long is your vacation in the US?
Please email us to setup a consultation by emailing us at info@esquiregroup.com so we can get all the information we need from you to be able to answer your question definitely.
