One question As per my knowledge efficiency of generating electricity at powerplant and supply to the home is maxed 20% of fuel used at powerplant. I think in the end Aluminium-air battery is the same efficiency as an electric.

One of the biggest problem of Al-Air battery is its irreversibility, once Al-hydroxide is formed then it can never be reduced back to Aluminium metal in-situ. Rather Al-hydroxide will need to be removed from the battery and then to be subjected to hight temperature electrolytic reduction to regenerate metallic Aluminium back. Replacable Aluminium plates (disks) and rejuvenating (repleneshing) the water could ensure some longevity but recharging is not going to be possible.
In terms of overall power consumption right from extraction of the Aluminium ore, to its recycling, comparing it with fighting with other powerful nations for the rare Lithium (which is bound to become as sought after as Petroleum) ,and increasing the electric consumption for charging the batteries everywhere in the nation everyday! I guess I will go for self reliance of raw material over everything else

Compared to the lithium-ion battery, the metal-air battery maybe many times more energy dense, but a reprocessing facility would be needed to reprocess the spent metal hydroxide - Al(OH)₃, in our case. Changing the metal plate of the spent battery is also not something the car owner can do at home. The current range of the metal-air battery - ie., around 1,000 kms is not good enough. Charging a lithium-ion battery at home or office would be far easier than going in for a battery replacement.

One of the biggest problem of Al-Air battery is its irreversibility, once Al-hydroxide is formed then it can never be reduced back to Aluminium metal in-situ. Rather Al-hydroxide will need to be removed from the battery and then to be subjected to hight temperature electrolytic reduction to regenerate metallic Aluminium back. Replacable Aluminium plates (disks) and rejuvenating (repleneshing) the water could ensure some longevity but recharging is not going to be possible.

Compared to the lithium-ion battery, the metal-air battery maybe many times more energy dense, but a reprocessing facility would be needed to reprocess the spent metal hydroxide - Al(OH)₃, in our case. Changing the metal plate of the spent battery is also not something the car owner can do at home.
The current range of the metal-air battery - ie., around 1,000 kms is not good enough. Charging a lithium-ion battery at home or office would be far easier than going in for a battery replacement.
