I'm religious but I don't care what others believe and I have this friend who is so against religion and is constantly like "why do you even believe in this? why don't you just be an atheist? hey dude are you seriously still a Christian?" I never even said anything about my religion or atheism he's just really fucking buggy about it.
I'm the same. I'm a christian, and I honestly don't care if you are or aren't. I think all religions have validity (up to a certain extent. The extremists don't count imo) and people are allowed to believe what they want. I've also experienced non religious people asking me those same questions. It seems they get angry right off the bat and assume things about you, which is ironic because that's the thing they say they don't like religious people to do. Even if you don't bring it up, they do for some reason. It's really weird.

My school is near a church so we'd always go their and do a choir thing and just chant zooboo almost constantly
In primary school they always made us pray at lunch time. It didn't really matter that I was an atheist because we had recently moved up to east midlands from the south east and I hadn't a clue what they were fucking saying anyway. I remember it most being a jumble of sounds with "ass stain loonch" somewhere in the middle.

In response to what you guys were saying when talking about religion at least for my family I found that religion was there to help us through harder times. Like when my father would deploy to the Middle East a way we could cope with it was to pray that he would come back safe. At least that's my experience with Christianity and I think the military as a whole. We want to believe there is something out there protecting them during war time.
I tend to get mad at small things because most of the time there are a lot of bigger problems you can't really do anything about. I tend to rage on the highway a lot and I think it's a way of dealing with larger problems. Also sometimes really heavy and/or brooding music helps a lot. Like Crust Punk/Powerviolence type stuff or like Drone Metal.

My older brother (we are 5 years apart) he used to have to go to sunday school and church, we both got baptized, but when i was around the age my brother was when he went to sunday school, my parents kind of gave up on religion and i didnt have to go, we stopped going to church altogether, and we stopped praying before bed
It took my mother till I and my sisters were already over 15 years of age to challenge herself religiously. She was raised as a Roman Catholic in Colombia and didn't change when she came to America with my father. It took a lot getting a divorce, bother her parents dying of illness to really question her faith. My mother is still religious, she is just no longer Roman Catholic. She is Pagen Wiccan.
I've been raised in a religious family, but my parents were highly educated, and they actually taught me how science made them believe in God etc... I went through a long phase of doubt, I just thought about how it wouldn't be fair for me to go to "heaven" just because I was raised in that family and got "lucky" to have "the right" religion, so I started studying all the other religions, the books etc...I was atheist for a time even, but during this time, I just realized that I believed in a greater force and destiny etc, and that what's really important, for me is the connection between you and that "greater force." Studied some more and ended up back to believing in what my parents taught me. I don't believe that it's the only right religion, but it's the one I feel most comfortable in. It doesn't mean that I respect atheist, or other forms of religions any less of course. A big issue we face today is that people just believe without understanding or questioning anything, and you just end up with close minded cunts. The bigger problem of the "charity" of the catholic church is that it's not even charity, frequently missionaries will give aid but only if they sit through prayer. Where I live in the West of Scotland, its almost tradition to force your kids to go to church every Sunday. Being raised Catholic and practically being indoctrinated from a young age, I do question religion and stuff but coming from a religious Catholic family. I feel like I'd have to come out as an Athiest to my parents. Just witnessing religion tear people in my family apart was enough to make me realise I wanted no part in it. Still forced to go to mass and everything though despite being able to think for myself

When you die if you aren't sorry for your sins you are making YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL CHOICE to not be with God and by bit being with God you are suffering greatly therefore you are in hell. If you are sorry you spend time in purgatory to be cleansed of your sins before entering heaven. It doesn't matter what you believe in because the same happens for everyone. The reason God wants you to be part of his religion is so you can learn how to live and worship Him but that doesn't mean that all secular groups are sinful.
