I believe the two boats you were looking for are on trailers behind the Station Bar. I know one was an older Wellcraft. I'll be there this weekend and can confirm if they are still there and for sale.
Best deal I ever got was Hobie 16 fro sale by the side of the road for $250. I assumed it didn't have any sails, because it was so dirty and covered with tree sap you could tell it had been sitting for a long time. I paid the lady, hooked it to my truck and started to leave and she said, "You'll have to come get the sails out of the attic, they are too heavy for me." I go up and find a brand new Tequila Sunrise Main and Jib, still in the original cover. I asked her if she ever put them on and said, "No, my son bought the sails right before he got transferred ten years ago. We never put them on."
On the first whaler, what was that kind of cracking on the back of the Transom? It look like it was splitting on the very top where the transom was meeting the interior of the boat. Pumped, I found your station! Subscribing now
@@jiggingjerks you are awesome for taking a second look. It was at 4:23 you have your hand on it, I think it’s just a strip. I was asking since the whaler I just purchased has work done in that spot- like it split slightly and was patched with fiberglass. 1970 Nauset old secret service boat for Bush in Kennebunkport. Thank you for a great channel and all your expertise! Cheers!
@@lindseyc3811got it! Someone mentioned in the comments it looks like it's delaminating there. I used to always say in these videos that no matter how cheap a boat is, get a survey. I picking up a 98 Hydra Sport 1800 this weekend with a 175 Johnson for $1500. The motor only has like 400 hours but it needs a fuel pump and a trim and tilt motor. I'm probably going to sit on it till the off season then slap a 4 stroke on it. Probably a 115 to 150hp.
The Montauk looked ok but you missed, the transom is delaminating starboard side top on the greenline (4:23). The Etec are very hard to get parts now, the value particularly on a 06 has fallen through the floor. 2 very old gas tanks. That one is waaay overpriced!! Come on man, $8k tops. Yeah you’re losing your mind.. That 15’ will continue to sit $12,900 is ridiculous!!!!! $5k tops for that…
Wow. I checked out a 90’s Sea Ray 270 the other day for $16k, including tri axle trailer! I love Whalers but they always seem overpriced despite their reputation.
He should pay you for trash removal. Then you can buy a new engine for 5k, overhaul the surface for 10k, replace seats plus for 10k or spend an extra 15k for a new 17 warranted to work and have a new trailer to boot!
John, not sure but I have a strong feeling that first Montauk you showed for 15K is not a 2006. I own a 2008 150 Montauk and it is a very/completely different design style. I think the boat is in excellent condition but I really question whether or not it is a 2006. Possibly a 1996 but not a 2006. Just my opinion.
John $15k for the boat with the throw away Etec is crazy, you need to price boats with those engines as not having power, parts are becoming scarce and finding someone to fix them is very hard. When that engine goes and you lose a season then look for a repower it will be around $15k for a new engine. The 15 Supersport is desirable but the seller is on crack, it looks like he hasn't washed it since your last video, the teak looks life driftwood and the engine saw it's best days before my my Jr in college was born. The market has turned Regulator is now offering $60k in rebates on new boats.
Last I checked it was 9500 installed for a Yamaha 70 four stroke, which is a great engine for the montauk. I would stear clear of a whaler with bottom paint- if ou keep your eyes open and are willing to drive, nice ones pop up for reasonable prices with original engines, ad no bottom paint.. You may need to drive a long way, but these boats were loved in the lake areas, enough to keep in the garage while the cars sat outside..
@@scherry9819I over shot just a bit I was looking at 90’s, there around $9k with a propeller then add insulation and rigging. Remember he’s on Eastern LI probably the most expensive area to be boating labor will be at a premium.

Love my Ridgeline! Best part is the “ Brunk”!
My favorite part too!!!!
Buck Potter TH-cam channel I recently bought a Boston Whaler I love it😊😊😊😊
Thanks for the shoutout lol. Surprised that GLS is still available. I’d take the montauk though.
Enjoy your boat reviews as much as your fishing video.
Thank you!!!
beautiful little town
I always enjoy the ride !

The whaler montauk is a great boat i know the owner and he took very good care of it. Runs well
That yellow boat been sitting there few years. They did have a yellow “submarine “ there for years.
I've never travelled down that road. Was nice to see other parts of our area relatively close by

17 Whaler w 90 etec not a terrible deal @15. It probably rides decent.

Those prices are too high for 2 stroke engines. I would say the first was worth 10-11K tops.

The motor is an 06. The Whaler itself is an 80s model
