Nice video but you missed the main point of this waterfall. The only time this stream is visible is the falls. it flows from a cave, over the falls and drains back into a cave at the bottom. WHEN you return, notice that there's no pool at the bottom of the falls and no stream flowing from it. Not being a jerk just mentioning what has always fascinated me about this waterfall. Absolutely love AA Just spent all weekend binging a LOT of your content!!! The hike on LeConte and Dolly Sods were amazing videos. Looking forward to much more AA content.
@@AdventureArchives I have always wanted to hike to that fall but my health no longer allows it. Diabetes Too many threats to my feet now. Definitely can't do my life long wish, the AT. So I'm living vicariously through your videos!!!! Lol
I found AA during the 2020 pandemic and the video was Robby solo hiking in my AO of South Eastern Wisconsin. I thought Robby WAS Adventure Archives! Was wondering who the other guys were when I watched future vids!
the full episodes feel like a full adventure-poetic narration and lots of perspectives and playful banter the Robby episodes feel like a break from the chaos of life; just hanging out with a dude for an hour or two
Man, some killer shots in this one. You really captured the beauty of the falling snow and all the waterfalls. I love all AA videos, but solo Robby hikes are definitely my favorite. There is always such zippiness to these videos. You interject at all the right time with your commentary and make it seem like you are talking to the each viewer individually.
Robby: "mmm that's good, maybe I'm just hungry" 😂 I don't know why I love watching his reaction after trying something new for the first time. Guess just waiting for that knee slap. Loved the solo video!❤️
Robby, you really shine in those solo hikes. You do it so skillfully that I almost forget that you're walking at least twice as far as we see. Each time we see you walking, we know that you've had to set up the camera. A hint for using that purifying straw: Scoop up a big cup of water and drink it standing up. No need to lie down prone.
Robby, you gotta be cold on that Klymit Static V pad. I could be wrong, but I think that pad has an R-value of only 1.3 or something like that. I’ve seen you tough it out in colder temperatures, so you are definitely getting by somehow. Maybe using that accordion pad underneath? Don’t want you freezing out there on a solo now.
I swear Robby posts a solo hike JUST IN TIME every time!! Was just craving a good AA video and boom, this one came thru. Great work on the cinematography and bringing just enough food Robby 💜
I was just Jonesing for a new episode. Tennessee is where I really fell in love with backpacking. Big South Fork, Burgess Falls, Fall Creek Falls, the Smokies... I've never heard of Virgin Falls but it's on the list now.
I have never done a solo hiking video but watching Robby really motivates me to try it out! Seems like a pleasant time getting out there and experience a hike by yourself! Love your channel guys! You guys motivate me and inspire me to keep putting out my own fishing and hiking videos! My content is not as good as your guy's but I enjoy the process! Cheers fellas!
Beautiful video Robby! Love your energy and I share your same joy of being alone in the woods. The quiet doesn’t scare me, it fuels my soul. Appreciate another great AA production and Happy Trails!
Love the video and mountain top views Robby! You definitely know how to make a hike entertaining and enjoyable. Haha but a fire 🔥 and the boys, with your delightful meals would be a plus and entertaining. I'd love to see you hike the area again together with the leaves 🍃 on the trees 🌳 😉 Hope you all get to feeling better soon. 🙏🤩 Take care & God Bless 💖
As always you bring the fun of the every day, the helter-skelter of life, and the chaos of getting ready for the adventure. We find it entertaining that we now know how much you eat and find it funny that you sometimes don't think you bring enough food. I pack my food then bring one more. You take us on real journies and that is what we enjoy about your videos. The real fun, real-life part of these adventures. Thank you.
Great Video Robbie, thank you for going here, I used to take my son here when it was hardly blazed or known since it was on property owned by Bridgestone Firestone Company. The marvel of the area is that the water flows out of sandstone and limestone caves and back into sinks in the ground immediately. The falls have official campsites now and is a managed area, but used to just be a random "ewok village" of campsites at different levels around the falls and valley. Still looks as beautiful as it did 20+ years ago.
Absolutely MAGNIFICENT….every single bit of the nature…and the film of this….all you did in the Way you did..THANK YOU!!!!'! Music too…..Mighty fine 👏💜😊👏👏👏👏👏
Well, it may be a shame that the rest of the gang could not make it. But....I gotta say, I do love me some solo Robby hikes! Your though process and comments along the way are priceless! What a gorgeous place! your filming and editing is beyond perfection :)
I have seen all your videos but somehow missed this one, glad it came up, beautifully shot. I have to say the slow motion of the waterfall with the snow falling that first day was the most breath taking piece in all you videos in my opinion, gorgeous.
it is so awesome to see you so close to home. you guys go to some of the most incredible places in the country and somehow you make it out to little ol nowhere and still enjoy it. i love it!
i lost out on a lot of adventures, i was addicted to your videos for years and months ago i got caught up with my own..i just remembered the channel and started searching asap! upset i lost you guys for 6 good months, but i'm back.
If you want more impressive waterfalls. Next time you wander into Oregon, head to Silver Falls State Park and do the Trail of Ten Falls National Recreation Trail. You gotta come in late fall through spring though so there's enough water to make these massive waterfalls shine and to avoid the massive crowds at the big falls.
I love Silver Falls State Park and the Trail of Ten Falls! The falls in the Columbia River Gorge are worth mentioning. My fave hike is Multnomah Falls to Wakheena Falls.
I am glad you haven't run into any creatures or crazies while alone, because I enjoy your solo videos very much. Stay safe and armed. Also, take a personal locator beacon with you so you can be located if needed. A SAT phone is helpful if possible. You do beautiful filming.
A great new adventure! Sad that you guys couldn't do it together but honestly I must say I enjoy the time alone (ok together with my dog) on the trail as well. And yeah, driving through snow isn't fun at all, but hiking through it at least looks cool in the video ;) Stay safe out there. Best wishes, Mario
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. As a native Tennessean I've hiked to Virgin Falls several times. It's also a favorite of mine and, yes, Tennessee has over 874 waterfalls according to TN Landforms! One thing that is unique and intriguing about Virgin Falls is that the water bursts out of a stream from the ground and then within a few feet it plunges over the cliff ... only to disappear underground immediately after the falls ... which is quite unusual. I don't know how far the water goes in the underground state before it appears above ground again. Love your videos!
Thanks for this episode! Tennessee does have many amazing waterfalls (and caves- though make sure they are open because we do have problems with White Nose Syndrome) Our natural areas are beautiful ❤️
