Did you see what caused the blockage? On a china gy6 engine I saw a big long piece of gasket that was not cut away in the factory reaching over an open space, wall to wall in the crankcase below the crankshaft. If I remember correctly it was about 5-7 cm long and 1.5 cm high gasket, I can see how that eventually breaks off and falls into the oil. It is apparently common they don't do the assembly properly at factory and skip on cutting those away.
I have a 21hp B&S blowing oil from the dipstick and burning out the exhaust. I can suck air easily but not blow into it. Sucking air would be the correct direction into the carb. So now I'm stumped again.
I thought crankcase breathers are suppose to be a one way check valve that only let pressure OUT of the crankcase. So they’re really open in both directions?
There is a valve that only lets air out once it has reached a certain level within the hose on my Suzuki GN125. So blowing air in is no problem. Sucking air out would be more difficult but I wouldn't try it for obvious reasons.

Possible the breather is cam driven???? I very much doubt it, or even solenoid activated? Or perhaps they just gone messed up? (Me thinks the latter) Good thing you found it early! Nice spot indeed.
@@fan1701 I had this issue pop up on me after taking my lifan engine on a huge 300 mile trip with a few hours of wide open throttle, I didn't mess with the oil level before or after, but it began leaking shortly after that trip. Just a small little drip at a time. Weird.
@@fan1701 make sure you slap a filter on it so it doesn’t happen again. I run a 3/16 fuel line with a cars inline fuel filter so it has good breathing and filtering
It causes a build up of pressure inside the crankcase that will cause the oil to be forced out through anywhere it can such as the fill tube and can push out the oil seals.
I wound up with a replacement engine from the dealer. You should contact the dealer you bought from ASAP. There is a form you'll need to fill out that should be on their website. Since replacing the engine we have had no major issues with it. I had to ship my defective engine back to the dealer so I'd imagine you will as well. I had to go around and around to get my engine replaced so be persistent with them. If you keep riding the bike with it building pressure you will wind up blowing out an oil seal so keep that in mind.
This might be a dumb question but i cut one of my lines conected to the breather systems and i did it too short, where do i get the same kind of line i have no clue i just bought my apollo 125
Most auto parts stores should have hose that small. You could get some off an old junk vehicle from the windshield washer hose. A hardware store would probablt have a union that would let you just stick the hoses back together where you cut them.
Make sure you tighten all the bolts and nuts on your Apollo. Chinese motorcycles and atvs tend to need the bolts tightened all over them. Keep that chain oiled before each ride to make it last longer and not stretch as much.
@@fan1701 thank you so much i appriciate you i wasnt even sure if i was asking the right question thank good ness some one got back to me ive been not know if its like a special hose or somthing by the factory. And i will make sure of that now thanks for the extra information as well frfr. Im off to the auto shops, hope you have a good day!!!💯💯💯🤙✌
Sorry for digging up old content but did you find an air filter for the crank case to connect it there in a store or jsut drilled it and pluged a connector?
The store we purchased the motorcycle from replaced the engine and we reconnected the vent hose back to the air filter. The new engine has had no problems since. This vent can have a hose that attached that hangs down behind the engine without a vent and it will be fine. There are small air that can be attached to the end of the hose. Just do a search for a filter that has a inlet diameter the same as the hose size. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@fan1701 Thanks for a quick reply. Struggling with the decision if I should replace my airbox with a pod filter. But migth have issues getting my MOT if I let the crank hose hangling loose so liked the idea where you had it connected to the pod filter.
Cars also have engine vents but they usually are connected to a valve on the intake. These can get stopped up too but most of the time they don't. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The dealer replaced the engine. I would have found a way to clear the blockage or drilled a vent in the top valve cap then thread a fitting for a vent hose there. Bike has been great since the engine swap. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The point was that the engine vent on the china engine from the db14 was blocked and should have been free to vent. This was causing it to pressurize and leak oil everywhere. I was sent a replacement that worked perfectly and wasn't blocked. Thanks for watching and commenting.
They are good beginner bikes IF you are somewhat mechanically inclined. We have had great luck with it and I would buy another one. Japanese bikes do tend to be built stronger.
I own a Honda walk behind lawnmower with an OHV engine that oil comes out of the breather tube and collects in the air filter holder. The oil from there drips down on to the mower deck. How do I troubleshoot and fix this problem?
@@deonleak8067 I was told by someone else on here that the valve behind the vent tube is not doing its job. They said to remove the flywheel to get to that area by prying gently on the flywheel after loosing the flywheel nut and hitting the top of the crankshaft with a rubber hammer.
A good Technical video. Every thing was well explained for a normal person to understand.
Very informative Fan. Thanks for sharing!
Very useful information.

Interesting... I'll try this too, I do believe my crankcase breather is being blocked

have u tried use air hose with not so high pressure
This must have been one of those how to for idiots tutorials because I think I actually got it! Lol jk, was well explained, good video!👍
I'd say you are correct.
I wonder if the hole didn't completely drilled through and I just broke enough to allow it to push through under high pressure
Yeah, that is kinda what I was thinking.
Thank you very much,
How did you end up resolving the issue? I'm seeing the exact same thing, just a tiny bit of oil dripping out.
@@domenik8339 The factory sent me a new engine. Something to consider is if you have slightly too much oil it can drip out slowly.

Do u have a video showing how to unclog the crankcase breather?
Think you’d be able to clear it out with carb or brake cleaner?
I tried everything but a drill bit to clear it. The place where I bought it from eventually sent me a new engine.

blue smoke, using oil

What's the effect of this problem to the engine?
If this vent is blocked it will cause engine oil to leak and will blow out the seals at the kickstart, behind the flywheel. Thanks for watching.
So did you blow compressed air
Yes, this video was just to demonstrate what the vent should do.
do u need a filter for crankcase
