Dear Itumeleng, This is when you will need that one friend that was good with accounting. The trick is, what ever rate per KM you are given ( especially as start up) , if it can give you a god GP, pay your expenses ad give you at least 4% Net profit, That rate is good enough.

Hi, so we want to start a logistics company, but dont have enough capital to buy a truck. Funders we approached want direct contracts so we have engaged a lucrative company they are willing to give us a sub contract. Now my question is since we have 250k for a deposit on a truck who in your network can help us Get to the end goal which is getting a good truck which wont that will serve what we need?

Can you start if you have the funding by yourself but no truck driving experience. Is it possible to start ?and how do you go about that ?
The easier way is trough incubation or if you have loads of money from your relative. Otherwise you must have a contract.

What is the admin and paper work behind a truck business. May please go into depth about that
The two main is Driving permit, this is not a normal drivers licence its a permit to drive heavy load. The second is business permit. There are others which are easy to get which include CIPC, SARS etc. I will do a video on that as i have a friend ( lady) who Runs this business in Giyane.

This is just like America, everyone wants to get rich quick. Learn the business from the ground up and save, then you do not have someone taking your share of the profits. The profit margin grows smaller the more trucks you have, let alone having to share with someone else.

Yes you can, now the trick will be to know capacity of your contractor whom you are sub contracted to. Will they be willing to share their financial statements to the third party( the funder)?

Hey, thank you. It should be funded easily if it contains the following information: Period (length of contract), quantity a month or R/load as well as volume. Is it a sub contract or main? is it signed? does it have specified start date?
Its not easy to advise if i dont event know whats the amount or value of the contract or loan you are looking for.

The most recent public workshop i attended is called SAB Tholwana Foundation... It had lot of SMEs in Trucking especially in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
REmember i work as a funder so such information is not readily available but i will share because i want SMEs to have a chance of survival .

I can but its not a starigh foward thing. What i do is help people get money for businesses but how to get contract i don't have much broader knowledge. I can just share how other people did it...I also got a contract for my business but it was on an event and when i spoke to a lady, she connected me.
