good video, as a master teck for 40 yrs I watched because I had neve installe this type seal that has no spring!? Now i linda under stand,. The "tooling" as you describe, is actually just stimulating the molecules so the reset in the position of their final resting place! Just the same if yo sand paint and dont let it rest for 24 hrs, you haave exited the molecules in the old paint and if you paint it right away, youll have wrinkles or no stick situation. ! Thanks for video < JOE
Just had my 03 Z71 that I bought new, 220k miles resealed. The first mech done it 3 times and leaked every time. He refunded my $ and now I have a new guy doing it next week. Hopefully we can stop the leak!
@@rickgreer9581did it seal with the new mechanic? I just put mine in and measured all around it to center it. I've got the tool, wondering if I should use it. Im almost dead nuts all the way around it.

Wow i did not know that! Thanks for the tip!!
The filler piece is a shoe horn. It keeps the lip from folding.
the seal self centered just make sure it is level with your oil pan. No lube needed for rear cover or main seal made with PTFE material
Thanks for the video! It answered my question!
What is that orange piece, I wish for a link as well as I'm about to do mine

Great tips!
Not the way to do this. Get the alignment tool.
I have not ever used the alignment tool for a ls motor. There is one, and if you have it, that is a good way to do it.
Papa don't preach 🤣
Did this ever leak again?
No
@@chriskolar thanks, did the rear cover on
