Fellow crohnie here, I got my surgery 8months ago after years of suffering, daily horrific pains and hours spent in the restroom. The surgery gave me my life back and much more!

It is a terrible disease. On the bright side there are medications that can help to get it under control and even in remission. Mine was very bad since the first doctor I saw was incompetent. I found a great doctor awhile latter, but the Chrons had gotten so bad that I had surgery and now a permanent ileostomy. Now I have my life back. Pain free and do all the things I love doing. Take care, and do what is best for you.

Thank you so much! You are truly the sweetest! I’ve found that life knocks me down a lot, and the best way to keep going is to get back up with a smile on my face! Also I seem to think my puppy is pretty cute too! ;)

My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with crohn's disease age 12. Like you time and time again the doctor did nothing and put it down to IBS. If only doctors would listen to their patients and believe them when they believe something isn't right. Maybe then it wouldn't be too late like it is most the time when the damage to the gut has already happened.
My daughter was immediately put onto the biologic humira. This treatment healed her gut quite well and she has has no symptoms in the last five years. Not a cure I know but you can still live welll on maintence drugs. X

That’s amazing that she hasn’t had symptoms for 5 years! I am hoping that now that I am past the worst of it that my biologic can kick in and start working again!

I have been in the bed since last Saturday with the worst stomach pain and nausea of my life. I went to Urgent Care and same as you I was sent immediately to the ER thinking it was my appendix. After waiting in the ER several hours I had a CT scan that showed “acute inflammatory changes of the most distal small bowel to include the
terminal ileum and Mild to moderate diverticulosis is seen of the left colon” along with “Nonloculated fluid in my posterior cul-de -sac”. The diagnosis was “indicative of Crohn’s Disease” especially since I already have Lupus, which is also an immune disorder. The ER Dr wants to wait for the gastroenterologist to “officially” diagnose me with Crohns but I can not imagine living the rest of my life with this pain. Please tell me it gets better??!

I am so sorry Tracy!! The first little bit is always the hardest, but it does get better!!! I was put on medication and unfortunately I did have to get a surgery, but not everyone does! I hope that you can find relief soon!❤️
