A good technical writer is worth their weight in gold. They can be incredible productivity multipliers for development team. Any team I've been on where there was a high quality tech writing team invariably was higher performing than other teams without them.
What a helpful video! The best one on the topic that I could find. Host, your empathy for your varied listeners’ concerns is clear- very cool podcast! I’m in a career transition and don’t know what to do next- you really seem like you care!
This was a great interview! I'm looking to transition into technical writing in 2024, and I have a background in teaching and writing blog posts. I am focusing on getting an entry-level technical writing role, and this advice is great!
Wow. I'll consider myself lucky. I landed a Technical Writer job with no experience and basically no education. Didn't know it was something people actually get educated for.
I went through an employment agency and they said they had a spot open for a role they don't normally have... and I happened to be there at the right time. I will admit though, the company seemed pretty desperate and dysfunctional.
Good interview 👍🏻 she explained everything so well, and she's so relatable (I wish she was on yt or discord, etc.. is she?) Also you did a great job 👏🏻 thanks man. subcribed 🎉
Maybe it's just the Asperger's in me, but I'm surprised how many younger technical writers can't speak two sentences without saying the word "like" six times. I wish I could understand.
This interview makes me realize technical writing is not for me. Thanks for that.

Yeah you're right
"like" = ctrl+Z
Thank you
I made it 14 minutes. May be a new new record. Great job on the interviewer's part.
Thanks for all the great content Don! Are you planning on doing a review of The Odin Project any time soon?
Thank you. If you'd like me to review any courses, there's actually a form link in this video's description where you can request that.
