Summary: soak rice in water for about an hour and use that water for curry leaves plant for 7 days. And then you can cook your rice in regular way.

My grandmother used to put old sour Chas....buttermilk to give the plant not only nutrients but the leaves become darker and the aroma of the leaves when used in cooking is more pungent .
