I have done SOOOO many different painting techniques over the years,and my favourite was one called “smooshing” back then, but now looking up smooshing, it’s not the same.
But, I painted the wall deep blue (almost same as this gentleman’s blue) then after dried, I applied GENEROUS amounts of raspberry coloured paint & quickly got up on my little ladder and applied a huge clear drop sheet to the wall…all the way around the room, make sure each wall is covered in it’s own sheet of plastic drop sheet. After about 10 minutes start at the 1st area you started at before and start smearing the clear plastic all over the place, continue doing this wall by wall, and don’t hold back! The smearing & wrinkling etc is NOT a bad thing! When I was done I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked! I have never taken a painting class or anything, but I fell in love with painting designs, and gave me self esteem in something I had no clue I could do!

He is smearing on a thick base coat of off white/cream coloured paint with his hand.
Then using a textured brush he’s creating the “harsh” look, or textured design
Then he draws in the design with just his finger
Then applies the rich deep blue coat of paint, and because he created texture with his finger & with brush, as he applies the yellow top coat it looks beautifully done
