  • In this video, I'm showing you how to start a UiPath automation from an e-mail using a public UiPath App. By using this method, you can ask users for input to a process - without using Action Center!
I will take you through building a simple automation with multiple Entry Points, that sends an e-mail to a user. The user then clicks one of multiple options inside the e-mail, which then launches a public UiPath App, that then starts the process with relevant information from within the e-mail.

Hello Jeppe. I'm a big fan of your uipath videos! Superb clarity and excellent choice of topics. Thank you for this one as well as it uncovers a lot of possibilities in day to day interaction with users. So, going to the technical aspect, I notice that your public app only declares the variables it needs (firstNumber, secondNumber and operator) but it does not parse them from the query string. Is it correct to assume that the Uipath app engine will do this automatically for us?

Thank you for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated 🙏👍😊
And yes, app variables are automatically populated with parameters from the querystring with identical names.

Unable to make public. Can't make external. Has the App Studio interface changed? It doesn't work the way you show.

Let me think about that one. I try to focus on development stuff, but thank you for the vote of confidence :-)
