It's a typical day in the life of the Deathwish gang. The sessions and locations were influenced by gangs, Hollywood, and Los Angeles culture. It wasn't much of a stretch because skate crews can be very gang-like to begin with. The Deathwish dudes are a tight-knit crew. Overall, I don't think this is too far from what these guys are actually like. It's really close to the truth. You wouldn't be surprised if you saw Jon Dickson on the beach asleep in the morning.-Skin Phillips

Your opinion is exactly that, your opinion, which you are fully entitled too. Each brand created their vision on this project. TransWorld just facilitated the media around each teams' effort. I would tend to agree the older projects were more polished in some ways, but also missing the rawness or the 'in the streets' vibe that this group was trying to obtain. I was not on the judge panel, but your reasons could be why The Santa Cruz video beat this one....

thanks for replying. my bad if I mixed up transworld and this group of chaps - for what its worth, the older projects as you say were more polished, and in being so they focused not on the skaters but on what they could achieve given a license to create, kinda like Danny MacAskill's Imaginate project. This was a group of dudemeisters letting the rest of us know we're lame and not rock and roll - coz HECK, they smoke! given the precedents - why this??
