That makes me so happy to hear! My partner has misophonia too so I figured it would help people who want to follow recipes but don’t necessarily want to hear certain sounds. I’m currently trying to be more cautious of eating or wet mixing sounds but do let me know if there’s any other triggers ^^
An alternative to scorpion would be lobster. But the problem with that is that lobsters have to be cooked while alive or killed literally just before cooking. Reason is due to crustaceans producing a type of bacteria once it dies - no need to explain how bad that would be to digest. Also TH-cam doesn't like it when animals are harmed.
Yup, that’s the most direct replacement. Like you said I didn’t want to have to do all that and it also cost quite a bit so I thought bell pepper + shrimp would be a more accessible option
I clicked because I like the show, kept watching because of the humour, but by the end I actually want to try to make this, even though it's out of my comfort zone. I totally lost it as the "fruit roll up" voiceover.
The orc food looks accessible and tasty. Just veggies used in a different way. And it's one of the best episodes in my opinion. Warms my heart watching people come together with food.
I looked at it up as well looks like mushrooms that are safe for humans are safe for dogs but it’s advised the mushroom is cooked. Dogs shouldn’t have mushrooms raw apparently as they can still be mildly toxic and neither should humans but this seems like highly debated topic that I’m not an expert on
@@slug_5112 you can try sherry or other cooking wines like cooking sake or rice wines. Drier white wine could work in a pinch too. Just not mirin, it’s too sweet
Thank you so much for this!! I have to be honest, I just graduated college and being so stressed in school really made me hate cooking for myself more and more each year as I had less and less free time for myself. It felt like so much effort during a time I was so stressed and tired, and I was struggling to find recipes tasty enough to make it worth it. I wasn’t taking care of my body and basically had the same low-effort meal everyday, and the thought of eating made me feel sick sometimes. Dungeon Meshi made we want to try approaching cooking again, and your recipe was maybe the most delicious thing I’ve made for myself- and super easy for a depressed person like me lol. I shared it with my roommates as well, and I got just as much enjoyment seeing how much they liked it as I did eating it myself. (Btw, the differences for what I used was instead of kelp kombu, I used the Yamaki Kappo Shirodashi I had on hand, and white miso paste instead of the normal kind. I balanced the salt with a splash of mirin and a sprinkle of sugar, and I was really blown away. Not sure what the differences would’ve been if I had followed everything to a T, but wanted to mention it haha) Long comment but I just wanted to say thank you and I’m really looking forward to future videos! I hope it’s not weird to say all this but I just really wanted to express the impact this had on me.
Oh my gosh, I really feel for you and I'm so glad you were able to approach cooking with excitement again. Your substitutions sound great! As I say with cooking, make recipes work for you, not the other way around. I'm really happy that you got to eat and share a delicious meal with others after all this time of eating the same meal on repeat. Maybe you might benefit from cooking in bulk? I love food but I don't have the energy to be cooking every single meal from scratch so I prefer cooking 2 dishes at a time and in large quantities so that I can alternate between them for 3-4 days. Easy recipes are anything stir-fried, stew/soup, one pot or baked in the oven. If you make a lot, you can freeze some for heating up quickly when you're tired. You sound very very burnt out, please take care of yourself and eat some yummy food. You deserve it. You're doing so good and I'm so proud of you for staying strong and getting up each and every day. You've been through some bad times and things are only going to look up from here! Start with easy recipes that don't take a lot of time and effort and slowly build a menu of different dishes for yourself that you can recreate easily. You got this!! Let me share 3 struggle meal recipes too that I use when I want to eat but don't have the energy and I think you already have some of these ingredients :) Spicy Tuna Mixed Rice (no cooking) In a bowl, mix a can of salmon/tuna (flavored/unflavored) with cooked rice. Add gochujang (for spice), sesame oil and kewpie mayo (other mayos don't hit the same) to taste and mix it all together. Add half an avocado if you have any. Wrap a tbsp of the mixed rice and some avocado in a small seaweed sheet for the perfect bite. You can mix in rice vinegar or mirin and other ingredients to taste too, very customizable. Broiled Miso Salmon (5 min prep, 5 min bake) Preheat oven to broil. Make a sauce by mixing 1/4 cup miso, 2 tbsp mirin and 1 tsp rice vinegar (adjust ratios to taste). Pat dry ~1lb salmon and cut into single portions (however much you wanna eat in one portion) and lay them on tray with a sheet of aluminum foil with some space between each portion. Broil for 3 mins, take out and brush the sauce on and broil for another 2 mins. Noob Friendly Risotto (20mins) In a pot, add 1 tbsp butter and stir fry 1/2 a diced onion until translucent then add a can of salmon or a small portion of meat and brown them slightly. Add 2 small bowls of rice, 300ml of water, 1/2 a chicken stock cube and some frozen veggies. Stir until water is reduced about half. Lower heat and add 100ml milk and 2 tbsp heavy cream. Salt, pepper and add (lots of) parmesan cheese to taste.
@@isekaikitchen I’m so so late responding to this ahhh but this thank you so much for taking the time to write out these recipes for me!! Really was so kind of you, I really appreciate it!! :) It really made my day and has given me more motivation to keep cooking and finding enjoyment in cooking 💕 Your words of encouragement were also so sweet and thoughtful, thank you!! I think you’re right about cooking in bulk, so I’ve been trying it lately and it has been easier for me than setting an unrealistic goal of cooking every single day and burning out. I’m glad to say I’ve been improving slowly but surely from my burnout, and this really has helped (even though it took me so long to reply, sorry!!) I really appreciate this, thank you so much again :)
I've been eating shrimp stuffed peppers my whole life and never realized how much cooked giant scorpions look like them 🤯
They really do look alike 😂
I have bad news, we do have scorpions in reality
Wonder if anyone’s tried making hot pot with it hahahaha
That would take a lot of real life scorpions as they usually ain’t as big as they are in the DID world.
Except ours aren't tye size of dogs or have meat like shellfish
Yeah, our scorpions are not the size of lobsters.
@@isekaikitchen I'm sure that would be an interesting experience, an arachnid stew
Love the "if Daria was a cooking show" vibe. Will 10/10 watch again for the dry humor and monotone voice
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it 😌

My credentials are the fact that I still have both of them 🙌
Glad to see more Dungeon Meshi recipes popping up! Great video too, love your sense of humor 😂
Thank you!! Hopefully I can come around to making all of the dishes 🤤

Luckily for us, walking mushrooms are weak enough to be put out with a stick

Waiting to see where do you get Dragon meat.
We don’t talk about that 🤫

Wholly disappointed you didn't use real giant scorpions for this dish 0/10
Sorry dude, couldn’t get a giant scorpion seller to sponsor the video 😅 you know how pricey they get

It is my understanding that all mushrooms that are safe for human consumption, are safe for dogs. A quick Google search just now also confirmed this.

This is a fun channel :). I think dried jelly fish would have been perfect as dried slime! Hard to get it probably…
Thank you!! Yeah jellyfish would be hard to get and I wanted to make sure the ingredients are accessible to most people
I just found this channel but the vibes are fantastic and I'm left think about how cool a collab with you and future canoee would be.

Is the mushroom called Kaon or you are speaking a Filipino dialect kaon means kain (Tagalog) also means Let's Eat.
