@@vayvon21 go into the Elementor setting and there is an option to enable where Elementor can be used. By default its pages, but you can enable it for posts, etc.
Use that to enable it on your custom post type.

Fantastic. And very timely for me too! So thank you. I'm building a community site that requires this very thing -- a jobs board. The next layer on top of this is that I have to set it up so that certain members can add new jobs via the frontend, as members won't have access to the admin dashboard. I think this is where the video you did on that topic (using the property website) comes into play. Am I right in that? Do you have any tips and pointers?
This is going to save me having to get a 3rd party jobs plugin, that then requires extra costs in the form of adding (geolocation being the key one, I think)

Hello, I'd like to ask you if you are aware of a problem appearing when ACF and taxonomy widget are combined in elementor pro loop grid. Ater clicking any filter button in the taxonomy widget, the oEmbed field with TH-cam video just dissapears (without been restored at the "all" taxonomy button...) Same happens also with Vimeo... So, is it compatible the oEmbed field with Loop Grid and Taxonomy filters? Could you just give my a hint? (I also don't yet use any caching plugin)

If one of the content groups in the ACF plugin is of the Checkbox type, used to list different services offered by a business, how can I use Elementor to list those services, with each item having an icon? It can be displayed either vertically or horizontally, and it doesn't matter if the same icon is used for all services.
How do you set up the ajax search bar in the heading? Basically make it filter the cpts
i want to use Elementor to display a POST LIST and use a media player button to display from the post list. how would i go about that using acf. i have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to create said list, and give it custom values such as track name, artist, genre, and a button to click from the list to play the audio track.

@@fschnidi the basic Elementor Pro doesn’t support dynamic data, so you’d need to move up to the next plan ($99) to get access to that.

Nice Tutorial but i did not find my problem solution i already use image in our post but i also want use logo as featured image because of i need to display inage, logo and content on hone page in card so should guide us if it us possible
Your text is a little hard to understand, try correcting them more properly...
However if what you are saying is to also display company logo on top of the featured image in the homepage, it is definitely possible.

Thank you, I love your tutorials. A couple of years ago I followed your tutorials to create CPT with ACF an that time I installed not only ACF, but also CPT UI. Whereas, now you're creating CPT using just ACF. What's the best way of working? For example currently I have both plugins ACF and CPT UI.
You can use the option in ACF tools menu to convert the old CPTs to the ACF versions.
Just backup the site first to be sure everything works okay.

Are you asking why I used Elementor Pro and not Elementor free in this video? If that is the question, it is because Elementor free has no support for dynamic data or dynamic tags - you need the Pro version for that.

Is it possible to dynamically hide a section and its header if there is no text in the respective ACF field? For example, I have a created a post template that I utilize for Professor profiles for a university. Some professors do not provide information for some fields (like "Academic Awards", for example), in which case I want the header text of the section not to appear in the template on the front-end.

Yes, you need to pay every year but you won’t lose access, you’ll just not get any more updates if you don’t renew.

Either choose to associate Tags when you create the CPT from the Taxonomies available or create a new custom taxonomy and associate it with your CPT.

Here is how you can reproduce this.
Create a custom post type with ACF named "Portfolio". Add some custom fields to it as usual (e.g. Client name, Date, location). Create a template in Elementor and assign it to the "Portfolio" CPT. Add the Portfolio custom fields to the template. This should work and render OK on the frontend since, by default, the custom fields available are the ones that exist under the Portfolio CPT.
In my case, I wanted to show custom fields that exist in another CPT (e.g. "Testimonials") inside the "Portfolio" page template. Unfortunately, the Testimonials custom fields are not displayed because it pulls data only from the assigned CPT (the "Portfolio" in this case).
To test this yourself, go back to ACF, add another CPT, name it e.g. "Testimonials" and add some custom fields to it (e.g. Name, Role in company, Testimonial text). Then go back to the "Portfolio" template, create a testimonial section and try to add the custom fields of the "Testimonials" CPT to it.
In my environment, Elementor is not outputting them to the frontend even though I can see and select the Testimonials custom fields in the backend.
Is this just me? I have tried the relationship, post object, clone but nothing seems to work.

@@Manos-G you’ll need to setup a relationship in ACF to join the Portfolio with the Testimonial CPT before you can pull the relevant data in.
You’ll need a one to one relationship unless there can be multiple testimonials attached to a single project and then you’d need a one to many.
@@WPTuts That is what I've been trying but I haven't been able to sort it out. I will give it another go and let you know. To be honest, the "Relationship" , "Post Object" and "Clone" custom fields are a bit too difficult to grasp. Hope you create a video sometime in the future and shine some light to all this. Thank you for everything.

why would you need acf when you already have elementor...
They are totally different tools. ACF allows you to expand WordPress by adding custom post types, custom meta fields, taxonomies, etc.
Elementor can’t do any of that. It just lets you display the new information created with ACF.

Wonderfully thorough and clear, Paul. I have enjoyed your videos over the last few years. I hope that you can answer one small question: I would like to have a field that is populated with a calculation. It would be something like "=word-count * 0.4". It's a simple multiplication. I see that there are some form extension plugins but they all seem over-the-top for accomplishing this simple calculation. Do you know if this calculation can be done with Elementor Pro or ACF?
