To believe what's being preached here, you would have to ignore or explain away so many of the “If” statements which are throughout the New Testament. Romans 8:12-13 “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. FOR IF YE live after the flesh, YE SHALL DIE: but IF YE through the Spirit DO MORTIFY THE DEEDS of the body, ye shall live.” (“oh, what that just means is.. blagh blagh blagh”). No, it means what it says.

Good luck relying on your IF efforts. Jesus did it all. Salvation is purely because of the life, suffering, death, resurrection and ascencion of JESUS. Period. (Eph. 2:8-10)

Yes, it’s absolutely by his life, death, and resurrection… and that has to be lived out in our own lives daily, until we endure til the end. Lk 9:23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF, and TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY, and FOLLOW Me.” Notice that He didn’t say, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him just have faith ALONE and receive my imputed righteousness, period.” You’ll never find the Jesus or the apostles saying anything like that.
Us obeying the Lord and doing the Father’s will does not equate to “relying on our efforts”. Jesus tells us how we are to approach this, Lk 17:10 “So likewise ye, when ye shall have DONE all those things which are COMMANDED YOU, say, We are unprofitable servants: WE HAVE DONE that WHICH WAS OUR DUTY TO DO.”. Notice that Jesus said we DO something, and that things are COMMANDED OF US, and that these things are OUR DUTY TO DO.
But what if we don’t do them? He answers that in Mat 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Notice again the we have to DO the Father’s will, not just BELIEVE in the Father’s will in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
What we do, has something to do with whether we get to heaven or not, and it’s OUR DUTY to do it, and we give God all the glory for it. That’s the teaching all throughout the New Testament.
