Most of his lectures are copyright protected. The copyright holder (his son Mark I would assume) allows them to be used by other channels but ad revenue goes to the copyright holder. It is like uploading cover songs. The owner of the publishing rights can disallow a song for use if they are so inclined (which is rare to my understanding), they can collect all the ad revenue, or if they are generous they may share a small percentage of ad revenue with you. My channel generates $20-30 a day from a mix of my own video, my music, and the odd lecture that somehow doesn't have a copyright claim. Enough for me to exist without having to go to a job I hate and with minimal participation in the destruction of the planet.
