I feel like G2’s offense is too reliant on involving everyone else and when they’re on a roll it looks great and extremely skilled but it really is not efficient. Against the best of the best it can just lead to the other team seeing right through it and picking them apart by playing the endurance game. I feel like for the extremely high level players it’s easier to shut down the g2 offense mostly in the beginning then it just turns to a endurance game. G2’s offense looks extremely good but if it really is easier for high level players to stop it easier in the beginning than normal pro teams offense then it’s no point. If 2 characters have the same amount of health but one side has flashy weaker attacks while the other has stronger but simple attacks who wins? Easily the character with simple attacks right? That’s basically G2 vs Faze imo. It’s almost like how in anime people talk about how in order to become insanely strong you have yo increase your most basic and simple attacks. Get 1 man to move up while the other follows behind and 3rd stays back that’s just basic rotations right? Not optimal for offense you might think but it gives layers on defense and when we’re talking world class players each layer is A LOT. G2 usually gives up 2 layers of defense for they’re offense and the thing about it is the 2nd man is usually there to stall time or make it difficult to shoot. I’d reckon about half the time the offense probably does get past 2nd man but that time the 2nd man was able to stall for usually allows for 1st to get back and help on defense while 3rd now moves up to challenge. Now this cycle continues and it creates a good defense because now those 3 layers of world class monsters defending becomes 6 layers and slowly increases. Great for teams who play by the book but for G2 who wanted to try a new style? It does not help at all because now small mistakes leads to big disadvantages. 2 players usually go up and try to do some sort of passing plays to score but 1 mistake and all of a sudden 2 players have to rush back to try and help the last man who has nobody to challenge for him or help stall time.

I’m a new fan to the RLCS scene and it’s kinda weird cuz Firstkiller has been hailed as the best 1’s player for years but he didn’t win the RLCS before? Like I know the RLCS is a team sport but like you look at these games and somehow he’s still getting the limelight so it’s not like his skills didn’t transition well to 3’s. I haven’t really watched his games with Ayyjayy either but like they literally have the 1st and 2nd best 1’s players on the same team? And from how Firstkiller’s skills transitioned so well from 1’s to 3’s I’m so confused on why Firstkiller and Ayyjayy didn’t win the RLCS with whoever they’re 3rd was at the time
