I've read and watched flipped so many times; it never failed to make my heart flutter! Thank you very much for creating flipped. It taught me many lessons that I've applied in real life. I really like Juli for her holistic pov and understanding personality!

I know we all want a sequel, but I think the ending of the book was actually perfect. Their whole lives Bryce and juli thought they had each other figured out, and at the ending when juli said “we never actually talked” it kind of shows how they didn’t. The open ending is perfect because we don’t know if they end up together but we do know that both of them have the interest to try
I think having no sequel is what makes the movie and book great it gives something for the reader to think all alternative ways of the ending and since there's no offical ending any of the alternative ways could be plausible. (still kinda want the sequel tho lol)
The story is so wholesome which is rare to find nowadays. These types of stories and movies should be immortalized and I think that this is just the first half of the story of Bryce and Julie. Not everything could be left in the imagination of the readers. You can fast forward to the week after the sycamore tree was planted, then 5 years after, and then 10, 15 and 30 down the line when they have their own children and grandchildren. It would be good to have a definitive ending. The whole world will be discussing about it.

I normally read fantasy books but this book just caught my attention and as soon as I started reading it, I couldn't stop. It made me realise that a normal story about first love is beautiful in its own way. Thank you for this book and although I know you don't plan on writing a sequel, many like me would definitely read it!

I think it's amazing how fictional characters can make us feel. I watched the movie and fell in love with it instantly. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart to write such a story, that was so simple at its core, yet so touching and inspiring. Unlike most people however, I'm happy that it didn't get a sequel and the fact that they didn't kiss at the end (I personally think it'd have ruined their innocence, in a way). A sequel would have felt unoriginal and rushed, which is why I'm glad the way it ended.

Also, I have seen your “10 year reunion interview” with the four actors. I left another rather long comment on that video as I wanted to join the conversation as I listened and formed my own thoughts about some of the topics. Below, I have copied you on the original comment I made after first viewing the movie as a TH-cam rental. After viewing this Q&A video, I thought you might like another perspective. (I know you have received soooo many!! But since it is your baby, I believe you enjoy reading our [fan] thoughts.) Below, I have shared a unique perspective about Chet that I have not heard in any of the interviews thus far. And I shared some of the reasons I was so moved by remembering my similar experiences, especially in meeting and dating my own wife. Thank you for the beautiful story, and stirring up those memories again! Here it is. . . Loved it! Just what I needed to lift my spirit. this movies goes into my life on a yearly basis it was always on tv at noon and my friends talk about flipped from time to time. cant believe its been ten years im the same age as the actors and i will appreciate it as i grow old. thank you for the experience 😁

Flipped is a great book. A lil upset that I cannot know it soon. I really love Flipped and got 2 versions of it. Flipped isnot only a good book but also a good movie. Unfortunately, the movie was not in the right era. If it had produced in the years 202x, I sure that it can become a blockbuster. Teenagers and young adults in my country and neighbor countries craze about the movie. 8/10 got its name on the "must see" list. Thank you for writing a very heart-warming story about teenage romance. Hope to see more of your works ^^ Ps: I can be happier if the upcoming book is about teenage romance like Flipped xD
So, The thing I like about flipped is how it is set up. It is set a few years back from when the movie was made. Though having no sequel which causes mystery is cool and all but a sequel would be super awesome because we would know what happened.:)

Really enjoyed reading the book. It was quite fun being able to peek at two different perspectives. I want a sequel and at the same time I don't want one XD cause it just soo perfect.
I just wished to know what happened to Bryce and Juli. I just finished the book, and due I only have seen the movie before and I thought it was settled in the 50's so i was like "the definitely ended up together" but now I know it was the 90's so those hopes decreased :c Why cant we have our happily ever after? I know that the book itself is great and I think the ending is very satisfactory (in the movie as well) but come on, you've created wonderful characters that have great potential. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't lose essence of the story/characters if you wrote a sequel. So I won't lose my hope and I'll wait for the day you decide to write a sequel for Bryce and Juli 🤞🤞

Wendelin, I'm curious about this: The film is settled in the 50s and 60s, where as your book takes place somewhen in the 90s (at least in the german book version they have CDs and camcorders and Chet is reading Tom Clancy). I personally think the 50/60s style fit the story very well, also because the egg yard feels more natural in that time. My question is: Which time setting do you like better?

I think Flipped is the most romantic and touching movie ever created. Callan and Madeline did great job on that movie. Do you think they fully represent Bryce and Juli character in your novel ?
Hi I got a question, does mr Loski have any explanation on why he was angry with himself and what happened in his past? (I havent read the book, only whatched the movie). And if you ever consider to make a sequel i think it would be interesting to tell the story of chet and rennee so in this way it would be related to the first movie/book plus its possible to tell a completely new story with the same topic.

The way Flipped ends is perfect, so I wouldn't want to see a sequel. Fourth grade me found the ambiguous ending impactful, and it's still my favorite book even as I've entered my 20s.

@@WendelinVanD thank you I appreciate your response. I told my daughter the reason I enjoyed the ending so much was because they're beginning started at our ending of the book so it leaves our imagination for endless possibilities and scenarios.
Ugghhh, i honestly can't get enough of this novel and when I also found out it have its film. It's getting more feeling obsessed with.
Although It's just so sad I've just realized the film I'm hoping for the part 2 was made a decade ago...😭 i'm desperate of it. But I'm grateful i have discovered this novel and the film. A massive thank you to the Author.

I'd like to thank you for writing Flipped. It's such a great book and a great movie. I made my mom watch the movie and she really loved it! She's an English teacher and she teaches 21st Century Lit so she made her students read the summary of it and then showed them the movie. I hope you'd make more romance novels that are as pure and as beautiful as this 💙

Flipped is a great book. A lil upset that I cannot know it soon. I really love Flipped and got 2 versions of it. Flipped isnot only a good book but also a good movie. Unfortunately, the movie was not in the right era. If it had produced in the years 202x, I sure that it can become a blockbuster. Teenagers and young adults in my country and neighbor countries craze about the movie. 8/10 got its name on the "must see" list. Thank you for writing a very heart-warming story about teenage romance. Hope to see more of your works ^^

So, The thing I like about flipped is how it is set up. It is set a few years back from when the movie was made. Though having no sequel which causes mystery is cool and all but a sequel would be super awesome because we would know what happened.:)

I just wished to know what happened to Bryce and Juli. I just finished the book, and due I only have seen the movie before and I thought it was settled in the 50's so i was like "the definitely ended up together" but now I know it was the 90's so those hopes decreased :c

I know that the book itself is great and I think the ending is very satisfactory (in the movie as well) but come on, you've created wonderful characters that have great potential. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't lose essence of the story/characters if you wrote a sequel. So I won't lose my hope and I'll wait for the day you decide to write a sequel for Bryce and Juli 🤞🤞

Wendelin, I'm curious about this: The film is settled in the 50s and 60s, where as your book takes place somewhen in the 90s (at least in the german book version they have CDs and camcorders and Chet is reading Tom Clancy). I personally think the 50/60s style fit the story very well, also because the egg yard feels more natural in that time.
My question is: Which time setting do you like better?
A late answer for you: I like both, but think the retro setting makes it seem timeless, which I like a lot.

I think Flipped is the most romantic and touching movie ever created. Callan and Madeline did great job on that movie. Do you think they fully represent Bryce and Juli character in your novel ?

Hi I got a question, does mr Loski have any explanation on why he was angry with himself and what happened in his past? (I havent read the book, only whatched the movie). And if you ever consider to make a sequel i think it would be interesting to tell the story of chet and rennee so in this way it would be related to the first movie/book plus its possible to tell a completely new story with the same topic.

The way Flipped ends is perfect, so I wouldn't want to see a sequel. Fourth grade me found the ambiguous ending impactful, and it's still my favorite book even as I've entered my 20s.
