I have some paid content in Race Room, but I gave up it some (a lot) years. Maybe 2015,6.... My main problem was with wheel configuration. I'm an offline racer, so I always wonder if I should give ir a try... I like to play 40 min - 2 hour races and I think they have a great selection of older cars (that I need to buy).
I'm running RR in 4K. It rocks! It's fun. We all wish for more of these same things right?! I'd hate to see them revamp RR and have it be a step back with better graphics or something.
RaceRoom is great, and I agree with you on everything, but... there's always a but! I don't believe this game is fixable. 1) There's too many almost same cars (taking so much space for no reason) and they can't delete the obsolete cars because they made people buy them! 2) Graphics are probably at their max for this engine. And even thou I don't need better graphics, there's a lot of people who do, sadly... 3) Car licenses, and probably they don't have that big of a team and budget to work on 2-3-4 fronts to upgrade the game + making new cars (they need at least 5-6 new prototypes to start with, and it takes time to model, test, etc.)... 4) Rain could be easily gimmicked by, as you said, just lowering the grip a bit when it's light rain and bit more when it's medium rain. 5) Yes, the menu and UI, worst thing about the game, feels like 2003. 6) Track selection, it's great, and maybe needs like 10-15 tracks more to be perfect (they just focus bit too much on (unknown) European tracks) 7) Weekly races need to change, they need to put two races in every class. For example, 2 GT3 races, make 1 race free and 1 race locked (have to own the track to race there). Thus implementing weekly free rotation for tracks. People would than be able to drive that track for a week and then maybe some would buy it, generating some revenue. 8) Make some kind of editor for custom liveries, or give a file with a blank livery when you purchase the car so you can edit it in some program! People like to create their own liveries. But in the end, I believe it's all in vain... most of the upgrades to reach modern standard are out of their reach, sadly, because I rate it as one of the best ever in term of driving feeling. Maybe if they go with Kickstarter for RaceRoom 2.0 or RaceRoomRevolution? haha :)
100% agree with your points. I would also love to see a raceroom 2. With an updated engine and the same passionate team working behind it, it would without a doubt get somewhere.
I do not get why you dislike the UI. IMO, it is good enough, much better than rf2. I am new at sim racing and I've recently tried all available sims (except iRacing) and for me raceroom feels the best. I enjoy the driving so much on TS-XW, not even close to let's say ACC where everything is trembling and farting and tires feels more plastic then rubber. Also, you can get all the content for less than 100$, much better deal than everywhere else. The only thing I really dislike is graphics, I'd like it be more eye candy, right now it feels sad, that makes the whole experience a bit sad. The atmosphere is grim and you feel lonely, it kills joy.
@@colddeath9797 UI in most racing games is awful, I don't know why it is so hard to make a simple and intuitive UI. And I agree, I don't like ACC at all, and how cars drive, RR and AC (with CSP, sol/pure, VRC, RSS mods) are the best for me. ps haven't tried iRacing and AMS2.
@@kanaziras hey, bro, u defenetly should try ams2, for me this is top 2 driving experience after raceroom. They've improved the game recently and it feels and looks just great. Guys tell, it is more simcade still, but for me it feels pretty realistic and I enjoy driving there!
@@colddeath9797 I will, watched a lot of videos and I like what I see! Especially if/when they add IMSA/prototype stuff. I don't mind being a bit less complicated, it's actually a positive thing for me! I wanna race and have fun, not sit in a virtual garage and fiddle with setups and physics for hours tuning the car and other settings... :)) Fixed setups for everyone, and let the fastest win.
Their old a la carte purchase system is a negative for them, besides all the other issues. Graphics and other goodies to keep up with the times/desires.

graphics fix needed, there’s no day and night cycle. no rain. no offline mode.
If they stop charging for everything when yes they could
