I have had over 55 cars and most of them German(BMW,Audi,Mercedes,VW) but never again.

I have one of these. The 'third row seat belt hits you in the face' gag at 5.15 is false. Mine is regularly full of grandchildren and the rear seats often in use. The clever maganetic anchor point is in the roof about a foot forward of them and obviously goes over the shoulder of the passenger in the middle of the second row. It goes no where near anyone's face. In fact the belting arrangement in my excellent (I will be back) 1.7 DCT is more intuitive and sensible than it was in the complete shite 2012 VW Touran I had previously, whose gearbox failed at 71,000 - after a load of other reliability issues.
Why do reviewers make such an issue about the lack of space in the third row of seats. If you regularly need 7 seats you'd get a minibus. There really for 5 with optional 2seats for the kids friends. Also the petrol head reviewers always criticize driveability but normal people will thoroughly enjoy it.
Why does the US not have this car? The Sedona needs a baby brother. The used Rondos of last decade are everywhere, and a hot item on the used car circuit.
7 years after it looks like the review was a bit shite, as the car is cheaper and better than its rivals. the rivals don't give even warranties anymore.
With its small size I don't think that it should compete with larger mpvs like the c4 Picasso. I also feel this car was made at the wrong time as would be a strong competitor for our 2013 Vauxhall Zafira B
Are you going to review the new Mazda MX 5 and what about the Levorg? I would have asked for the new Giulia also but i see it comes to uk in autumn. So tough luck with that one for now.
+carwow am only 14 and I have a TH-cam channel that's about phones and cars! if your interested please have a look (I only just recently started but 5 subs) I found your reviews interesting......better than the new topgear!!!
Hi Mat. You say the design inside is "a little bit boring". Sorry, but I definitely have to disagree with you there. A VW Touran is boring inside. Since Peter Schreyer and Thomas Bürkle (formerly VW/Audi) and Alfred Biermann (formerly BMW M-GmbH) switched to Hyundai/Kia, the Koreans have been building much nicer and better cars than the German manufacturers. But unfortunately this fact has still not reached the masses :( I also like to remember the Video by Martin Winterkorn (VW) at the IAA in Frankfurt 2011 at Hyundai: "There's nothing rattling." Why can they do it and we can't?
The executive class is the a6, 5 series and e class not the a8,XJ, 7 series and sclass. I have requested the 7 series and Sclass but who know when it will be reviewed, I saw one in real life I guess that's better
You said a stroller doesn't fit when all seat are up ... yes it does .. my McLaren fits fine and all the kids belongings too . So that's rubbish!!!!!!!!
I've got one. It's fine, I'd go back for another. I used to own a VW Touran, it cost a fortune in repairs, and the DQ200 auto box finally packed up at 71,000 miles. The Carens has never given me any trouble in the two years I've owned it except for a failed tailgate strut which was fixed under warranty.
I have one outside parked as a courtesy car it is absolutely horrible to drive the cabin is too dark it judders when you take off it's slow it's absolutely horrible.
Yeah. Sorry about that. We have filmed the car but the vid won't be for two weeks. Still it will be worth it, promise you. Hopefully you will like the vid we release tomorrow.
Are the koreans short people cause the 3rd row seats are a joke for european market. Shame. It looks nice compared some other MPVs. Particularly the likes of Touran which have boxy styling.
This guy whinged his way through the entire review. Try driving a zafira grand tourer for example. Shite engine and notchy gears. Or a grand Picasso. Absolute cheap rubbish with hellish dashboard. Grand cmax. Had one as a courtesy car and it was rough with absolutely terrible fuel economy. The carens is by far a cut above most 7 seaters unless you go into Q7 or Range Rover territory

Was it a diesel? Looking at the 1.6 petrol variant because diesel costs €100 more every month in road tax here in holland

@@johnniblueeyes2786 thanks for the reply! Curious how good the 1.6 gdi engines are... Diesels are known for longevity
Wait, UK uses litres for water bottles but gallons for petrol?
Yup
Yes, we're weird. We also use miles an hour instead of kilometres per hour
TheRealLB I know that, but I thought you guys are Imperial all the way! Had no idea you use metric at all.
Well you're no longer in the EU so you can more than ever do what you want
sounds stupid right?

I love it when you do 5 good and bad things, it makes me want to continue watching :)
I remember the time that carens were just a car's name rather than a term
This car has a 10 year warranty here in Canada
Why is it that nobody else is talking about Matt's short short shirt? you can never get enough of that right? n.n
He's hot!
Hahah i was thinking the same thing ! 1:40 Damn haha
He's just not worked out how to use his washing machine properly yet…
+carwow well then I'm glad he doesn't know! haha ;-)
and also at 2:38
Holy shit OG Carwow, Mat, hits hard
In India Kia carnival is there. It is a 7 seater mpv. It is very comfy for adults in the 3rd row seats.
A 7 Seat MPV of the Kia Carens is very boxey. It has the best features with the latest technology and ridehandling and aerodynamics.
is this car going to be available in the UK? or does south Korea need to agree on a trade deal first?
hahaha
It is in the uk.....
Why does the US not have this car? The Sedona needs a baby brother. The used Rondos of last decade are everywhere, and a hot item on the used car circuit.
Bought kia carens,now in india....fantastic 1
I love spotting the easter egg.
This one was real easy though!
Korean song Korean car!
In Canada we call the Kia carens the Kia Rondo and my aunt has a red 2016 Kia rondo ex
7 years after it looks like the review was a bit shite, as the car is cheaper and better than its rivals. the rivals don't give even warranties anymore.
Silly question: does the second-row middle seat (in the model in the video) have a tether/anchor point to put a baby seat?
Yea. Best to check with the car seat manufacturer whether it is compatible with this car though
Hi Matt, would you be able to do a review of the Kia Sedona (carnival). Really like your videos with practicality.
Cramped 7 seater MPV. It's better than no seats in the third row.
same space in the toyota verso
With its small size I don't think that it should compete with larger mpvs like the c4 Picasso. I also feel this car was made at the wrong time as would be a strong competitor for our 2013 Vauxhall Zafira B
I'd always rather watch Mat Watson reviewing a Kia MPV, than watch CarBuyer's review of the Focus RS. In short, Mat's the best.
I got a question, this car really has the noise canceling inside? I couldn't find info about that but have the car:) and, I like it!
Hi Mat you should start reviewing Trabants and rickshaws in light of Britain's new economic standing.
It's called rondo in canada
Are you going to review the new Mazda MX 5 and what about the Levorg?
I would have asked for the new Giulia also but i see it comes to uk in autumn. So tough luck with that one for now.
Thumbs up for you Carwow! :)
The new Carens launched in India seems to be more spacious than the older one.
The third seat is designed for tax deduction benefits in Korea
You can't tell that Mat just got a new sponsorship deal with Psy can you. Very subtle.
The car looks like it wants to speak to the manager
oh its a karen but spelt caren
I’m thinking to buy this kia for Uber taxi

What other competitors does this car have ? I dont think there's many
Sorry Matt, I like this car, I have a non sporty version and it's given me peace vs the Merc which I should have booked for a demolition show!

can you review the kia caren 2024
The easter egg was clearly your bum at 2:42
why no kia sedona 2018/2017 review?
I don't think it's offered in the UK
I dont think they ever review full size MPV. I,m agree with you, why no Kia Sedona.
Great car!
Miles better than a Golf + for example 🎉
My uncle now drives a carens and it’s great! Especially after his crappy VW Golf 😅

The “ carens” the exact people that would drive these
Mat i love your reviews. Will there be a review for ford ka?
Not yet. Later in the year maybe
There releasing the new ford Ka soon so u could do a review on that.
What would you say is the best compact mpv
Are you going to have your hands on the BMW 7 series or a comparo b/w the luxury saloons?

No, his is the far superior Mk2. Supercharged. It even works sometimes.

Focus RS review on Carbuyer and THIS on Carwow? Should be the other way
Still watching this one first
Yeah. Sorry about that. We have filmed the car but the vid won't be for two weeks. Still it will be worth it, promise you. Hopefully you will like the vid we release tomorrow.
MatWatsonCars we definitely will, thank you for making amazing reviews even when the cars are boring :)
my favourite reviewer. but do you notice that while he's showing the interior he always get exhausted. he barely breathe well
I was just so excited by the Kia. It made me pant.
does psy have a kia

It's called Mitsubishi Shogun in UK if im not mistaken (/°0°)/

no but you can fold down the 3r row
