Identical to the first snowmobile mom and dad bought. Mom would ride backwards as dad would drive. Back then the neighbors were getting into snowmobiles and often rode together only to end at someone’s house with a huge fire to warm up. I still have this original sled and will never get rid of it.
My dad and i both had one. He started with a 1963 6hp skidoo, then swapped in a 10hp rotax in 65. We had countless hours on the 12/3. So many fishing trips and time spent in the bush. I'm so sorry i didn't keep mine!
Our family bought a 1970 Olympic 12-3 brand new for Xmas 1970. We lived on the VT-Quebec border and my Dad bought the sled in Canada for $395 new... So much fun on that thing.
We were one year later when we got a 1971 Olympique 300 single with a matching tilt/swivel trailer, Petawawa, Ontario. So much fun!! A friend had a 1969 12/3.
When I was a kid in Massachusetts I used to see these ski-doos and we used to ride all over now there are NO snowmobiles or snowmobile stores or quads because The State Of Massachusetts DCR has destroyed riding by buying up large parcels of land and posting it No doing anything but walking!!! State sucks big time!
but agricultural corporations can turn huge tracts of land to grow GMO crops and spray billions of tons of toxic chemicals everywhere, nice double standards eh? we the people need to take our land and our country back
Had one loved it I Too 71 Great Memories skidoo 69

Nice video, so glad we get to hear the engine instead of music, well done. I have a minty 12/3. Love these machines. Predecessor to the Elan.

That´s a real sled!
Boy that's a familiar sound from the past! We had a '69 "18-horse" when I was a kid. Hated it back then but now it looks like fun for some odd reason!
This sled single-handedly won us the first world war
Can I ask what oil/gas ratio you are using?
