1960s?? I think you mean 1916. And the term "cafe racer" only came about in the 1960s, and only in the UK. It has probably been misused more than any other motorcycle related term.
This design is based on 1st WW era and the 1920s. The racers in that design were board track racers. A racing culture with stadiums built of wood, looking like a velodrome. This sport had a very high death rate, due to the board track racers dumping oil and causing high speed crashes.
A piece of the passed with today's technology. A beautiful machine. Take care of it. And it will take care of you. Me. I have an ADDMOTOR MOTON M-60 R7. And she rides like a dream. In its own way. She resembles a 1930s Harley Davidson motorcycle. I got this motor to go 28 miles per hour. But when I got it stock. It was only going at 20 miles per hour. It has a full twist throttle on the right side of the handle bars. I call her the lone wolf. On the front of the handle bars I put a real wolf face on. And on the real wolf paws. Plus I put b blue flame decals on the fenders. I don't pedal. I just want to sit, relax, and drive the bike full throttle. She weighs 98 pounds. She runs on a 48 volt battery, and a 750 watt motor. She's a black finish, with orange and white stripe decals. And if you notice sir. I call the bike a she. Why ? Because any piece of machinery made is a female. That's why. My dream was to have a Harley Davidson motorcycle. But something old that represents the passed. So this bike covers it. This is definitely my motorcycle. And that's how I treat it. I know I can't go on any major bridges and highways. But I can drive on the local roads. With traffic of course. Use hand signals for right turn, left turn, and stop. Of course the most important thing is, I wear a motorcycle helmet on my head. It's a turtle shell shape. A black finish, with a a skull and cross bones, and flames. All painted in white. Plus on the handle bars. I mounted two side view mirrors with flames engraved on the back. She had leather grips. I have a Kryptonite chain and lock. I have the registered with ADDMOTOR. Plus I have bike insurance from MARKEL AMERICAN INSURANCE COMPANY. This is $134.00 per year. I have an alarm on the bottom of the seat. And when I get my flat tires fixed. I'll put on the cargo rack on the back of the bike and saddle bags. And that's it. Carry on sir.
If 63 pounds is correct it's one of the lightest eBikes. Get a eBike capable rack for the hitch mount and go anywhere. My eBike weighs 72 pounds and I take it anywhere in the country on trips.
Forget the ' retro ' designation, suppose this was a brand new bike design, it wouldn't matter because it's still a very attractively styled bike. I'd love one.
This is good value for money. There's about 5 great retro e bikes. This is up there with the cheetah and the vintage range. I love this look. German ww2 wehmarcht. Trouble is so many folk will b stopping you asking questions.. As it's so cool
Handle bar throttles on push bikes are illegal in most countries and probably always will be unless you want to call it a motorcycle and pay accordingly.
That look / style is way older than the 60's . I know I've lived it and also rode the bikes of those days. Yes it's very cool but Older then You think. Enjoy - - ->>>.
A sweet retro looking e-bike for a small to medium size person but for the taller person the gorilla riding and pedalling position would be a pain in the bum.
This thing is really cool! I could definitely see this as a sole form of transportation if you live in an urban area or close to work Edit: I love that you wouldn't have to worry about gas and insurance lol
That's exactly it. I originally filmed a segment that i cut out from the final review but since this bike's top speed is under the legal limit for many states it's much easier to purchase this and ride short distances than going through the process of buying a motorcycle.
@Mike G i have one.....seriously buy a diff bike.....i have had nothing but issues with mine......brakes seal blew...had to replace brake, so i upgraded because the ones it comes with are either garbage or wrong pads. then the battery bracket broke in half. Then because they were to cheap to put a rubber plug over the charge port.....it shorted...so i replaced the charger extension cable. The battery range has dropped by 25% since it shorted but they wont warranty the battery....and lastly the frame broke at the weld just below the handle bars. Now i have been waiting for a month and a half for a new frame. Maybe in a cpl yrs these will be fantastic bikes.......NOT RIGHT NOW though.....if you could get the springer edition with a 750 watt motor....then it would be worth it but not until they pick up their game with quality and options...ie no usb port no bluetooth no anti-theft of any kind no rear light.

I got a Greaser last June, in Switzerland, and yes people stop you on the street to ask about and take photos of it !!!

I bought my first Greaser in 2016 and still riding it. Came with hand throttle in the box. I mounted it myself, I think it's a better idea
Does the motor work when you're not pedaling?

I have one on the way in the next couple weeks. I can't wait!
Wondering how they fare in cold prairie Canadian winters?
Let us know how it goes! Still loving ours.
Thanks for making this video! I'm thinking about buying one of these and your review has been the most helpful so far :)

Does the throttle work when you're not pedaling?
it's so beautiful and affordable, it satisfies my imagination
QOTD: What is your main form of transportation to work?
My Ecomobl M20 E-board
Those are actually just upside down mounted handlebars. That’s how we made cafe bikes out of motorcycles back before you were born

There's a Dutch company that make the valkerie. It's cool. But not quite as good.

@@Sypnotix I didn't even think about the top speed and legal limits. That's awesome! It just makes more and more sense. Great video!
